Would GTA be GTA under EA?
So we all know that Electronic Arts attempted to buyout Take 2 Interactive but it never happened. What if it did happen, would Grand Theft Auto under EA be as good as GTA has been in the past? I mean look at what they did to Command and Conquer when they took over Westwood Studios, they pretty much destroyed the series when EA brought us Command and Conquer Generals, it just wasn’t the same. What Grand Theft Auto IV is good at is the fact that it has that GTA touch to it, Rockstar kept the same concept and idea, but just made it next-gen.
We all feared that if EA took over Take 2 they would destroy GTA forever just like they have done with takeovers in the past. I think that EA would have completely destroyed GTA by trying to make it ‘their’ game and just lose that GTA touch altogether. It wouldn’t be GTA at all. No one can do it as good as Rockstar.
We no longer need to worry because it hasn’t happened and Take 2 has rejected all of EA’s offers.
What’s your view on this? Do you think EA had the potential to destroy the GTA series by making it ‘their’ game?

I think EA handling GTA would be a bad idea for all parties involved 1 there marketing sucks 2 look at army of 2 great concept bad game 3 im not a fanboy i have all systems but would u trust the ex xbox pres with GTA no just look at the great work being done with the NFL license and we can only pray for GTA to be only on xbox360 4 ask your self how many good games have they made this GEN and 5 we will not except hearing the ps3 version runs at 30FPS aka madden08 which sucked on all platforms i think they should invest that takeover money to there own studios and make better and new games and we all heard of a rumoured EA console in works who knows what could happen don’t even get me started on the 3DO all we need is a FMV GTA did i hear some one say SEWER SHARK LOL.
the real question is: Would the orginal GTA-team under the supervision of the Houser brothers stay?
Yes - not a problem.
No (the more realistic scenario) - EA killed GTA/Rockstar.
If EA bought Take 2, Rockstar would still be the ones developing the game. A lot of people are forgetting this.
I think EA would destroy GTA for sure, EA is a pain to loads of people out there, look at Army Of Two for example they took Gears and just mixed it up here and there and region locked it. If they had a part in GTA it will just be disaster. Sorry EA you are not getting Take-Two or Rockstar.
BOYCOTT EA - I do not like EA for their DRM methods which messed up my Sims 2 game. The only other game I play is GTA - NO WAY will they take that from me!! EA you’re going daaaannn!

I boycott all EA products and would have done the same if they took over Take 2. They do nothign but destroy everything they touch.
