white homelogo2 Playstation Home down for maintenance

You read it before, but here is some more information from the Playstation Blog.

At this moment the Home servers are down (from 12 midnight PST) and the maintenance will take about 6 hours to finish.

During this maintenance, SCEE will update Home to 1.04. The update will temporarily disable the voice chat feature within Home, but your still able to use the phone feature to voice chat with your friends, while in Home.

Playstation encourages their users to make use of any keyboard or latest released Wireless Keypad for text chat.

Hopefully the heavy login problems for the people in Europe will be minimum to none after this update.

P.S If you can’t wait you can start by downloading the update now, though we don’t advise it as there might be last minute changes to the update.

ps3keypadtotilo Keypad available from the first week of December

This week we were wondering about the PS3 keypad if it would still be released like we previously said, cause we had hardly hear any news of it since the announcement at the Leipzig Games Convention.

Well Gamespot talked to Ian Jackson, Vice President of Sales for Sony and he confirmed that the keypad is getting out a little later but still during the holiday season.
You can expect to see the first batch in the first week of December at retailers.

Perfect timing for a Home Open Beta release? You tell us.
