While some of us are still waiting on White Knight Chronicles, PS3center found out that Japanese magazine, Famitsu has confirmed another PlayStation 3 exclusive RPG.
The game will go by the name of Trinity Zill O’ll Zero and is the latest addition to a franchise made by Koei. The game was originally released for the PS1, and later remade for the PS2 and ported to the PSP.

Though details are still limited, Trinity Zill O’ll Zero will be a darker themed, mature RPG.

White Knight Chronicles Combat Gameplay

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the first downloadable content for RPG White Knight Chronicles – currently released in Japan. Created by Level-5, the game will receive a free quest to download and will be released tomorrow (15th of Jan 09).

The title of this new quest is “What is the thing you are looking for.” A multiplayer quest for the game’s online “live part,” players are asked to search a cave for an unspecified item that someone has dropped.

Players who download this quest will find lots of new content including new monsters and new high rank equipment. Two of the new weapons are called Demon’s Sword and the Demon’s Staff.

You won’t be able to just enter the quest, you need to be a guild rank of 7 or above and level 36 and above.

Included on the list are White Knight Chronicles, Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer, MAG: Massive Action Game, Infamous, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Resident Evil 5,Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and God of War III.

A list to go crazy about. If the PlayStation 3 manages to get into the black numbers, this will be one very interesting year for Sony.

White Knight Chronicles has been a great success in Japan, that successful, it has boosted Playstation 3 sales by 16%. Heck, even a US release has been confirmed.

Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level-5, has also officially announced that the title will be making it’s way to the US, but wouldnt shed any light on a release date.

White Knight Chronicles is available in Japan and had a great first day. No word on a release date for America and Europe, but if you want to see the opening cinematic now, check out the video below.

Despite the above average rating by Famitsu, reports have come out on the games first day sales in Japan. White Knight managed to sell around 100,000 copies of the game on it’s first day.

This can be some good news for other regions as it increases their chances of getting the game (soon).

Famitsu got it’s hands on White Knight Chronicles to test this game of it’s potential. The results a score of 29/40 (7,8,7,7) .

How did this PS3 exclusive get this score, well the reviewers didn’t care for a number of elements in the game, such as the in-game menus, battle controls, chatting (apparently it was difficult to chat while moving around) and overly simplistic battle system despite a game length of 30 hours. They did however had good words to say about the customizable combos and epic battles in a gorgeous looking world.

Don’t raise your eye brow cause of the score as these we’re the same people that rated Haze a 34/40 (9,8,9,8). So does that mean that White Knight Chronicles will get worse reviews like Haze got from ‘western’ reviewers. Time will tell.

The Japanese boxart for White Knight Chronicles, an upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive RPG has been revealed. Not sure if this is a worldwide boxart, but it has Japanese written on it. Stay tuned, we will post the boxarts for other territories as we get them.

How awesome does this game look? After watching the TGS 2008 trailer i’m left with my jaw dropped.

Gameplay footage of Level-5’s Sony PS3 RPG. White Knight Chronicles (AKA White Knight Story) is developed by Level-5 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3.

White Knight Chronicles online play is now official. Here’s some minor details regarding that aspect of the game. The game consists of 3 major parts:-

1. Story Part
2. Live Part
3. Quest Part

Basically the Story and Live parts are seamless and a Town Square is mentioned.

Speculation here, but my guess is when you enter a city, you get transferred to a server or what not. Up to 16 avatars (players) can be in any given Town Square. From there, you can party up with up to 4 players to go questing and what not. Items can also be traded between players, though details aren’t available yet.

Playstation 3 exclusive RPG game White Knight Chronicles is expected to run at full 1080p resolution. A member on the NeoGaf forums managed to procure some dengeki scans and below is some new information found on the game.

• First RPG on the market to be native 1080p
• Storyline quality on par with that of DQ series story lines
• Image quality approaching that of Final Fantasy
• Aspects reminiscent of Monster Hunter

The game is set to be released on the 25th of December in Japan. No word on release dates anywhere else.
