The future is looking bright. It took a while, some rumours, maybe even the effect of a petition. But Fallout 3 on the PlayStation 3 is finally getting some downloadable content from Bethesda. In an official press release they said that they had been working on it for a while to implement for the PlayStation 3.
“Operation: Anchorage” will come out late June, with “The Pitt” and “Broken Steel” expansions following weeks later. We’ll get a more exact date in the future.
In order to play these upcoming DLC’s Bethesda will release a update for the PS3.
They also announced two new DLC’s we can expect. This will be “Point Lookout” which will be available after the release of the first three DLC’s. Followed by “Mothership Zeta”. Both will cost $9.99 .
In “Point Lookout” you will explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content. In “Mothership Zeta” you’ll be abducted and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.

The number wouldn’t surprise many people as half of the PlayStation 3 owners has atleast one extra account in a different region. Why? Because of the different PlayStation Store releases.
Nevertheless, SCEI was proud to announce that they have exceeded the 20 million user mark on the PlayStation Network in ‘only 2 years and 3 months from the service launch on November 11, 2006′.
Since the launch the PSN service has expanded to 55 countries and regions around the world.
Adding to that 14,500 diverse digital content and 5,900 movies and TV episodes, managed to get 380 million downloads (some free some, purchased).
And PlayStation Home is doing it’s best to keep up. Thought it’s only 20% (4 million) that has registered to the service, the potential and future looks bright with the upcoming releases of the Warhawk Game Space and the highly anticipated EA Sports complex.
But are these 20 million accounts all PlayStation 2, 3 and PSP owners? No, since several website integrated with the PlayStation Network, posting a comment made registering mandatory. And with this current Digital Age, fanboy activity is very high so they don’t mind creating a ‘fake account’ just bash a certain console.

Warhawk Home space Comes this week
Sony confirmed they will bring out Warhawk Home Game Space at the Destination PlayStation event. This will be the first game space in Home.
EDIT: Actually this isn’t the first, but it’s one of the most anticipated Game Space for Home. Expect it on February 26th (tomorrow).

December 10
Finally we can go Home – again- released soon
After almost two years and three possible release periods, Home will finally be available to the public from December 11th 2008.
SCEE let know that tomorrow, everybody who has registered to the Playstation Network will be able to download Home from the Playstation Store. There was much speculation of when it would be available and in the latest interviews with people from SCE/Sony/Playstation only increased them.
Kazuo Hirai was proud to say,
PlayStation Home is truly a promising network community service on the PlayStation platform, made possible with the powerful combination of PS3’s overwhelming computational power and PlayStation Network that covers many countries around the globe. We are committed to providing PS3 users with exciting gaming experiences with PlayStation Home and together with our partners and users, expand the new world of interactive entertainment as we move forward.

We’ve heard about different kind of places you can visit like the lately announced ‘Clubs’ or event halls like the Tokyo Games Show, but also special spaces dedicated to certain games. From the start you can expect to have access to a Far Cry 2 space.
Sony has aimed for such game inspired environments so that it allows people to discuss the specific games, plan strategies and access content and clues that will enhance the gaming experience.
Expect more spaces like this to come soon from games like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune™, Warhawk™, Motorstorm and SOCOM (we say this one will be available once the game hits Europe) and even other games.
SCEE has focused on bringing us more of these engaging environments together with Electronic Arts, UBISOFT, Midway, Sega and Atari that will provide users with an on-going gaming experience.

We already know that Red Bull had it’s own thing coming in Home but joined by other brands like Fashion leader Diesel, furniture designers Ligne Roset, Paramount Pictures, video content providers Hexus TV and Eurogamer they are one of the first to provide us with content once the Open Beta launches.
Expect to Dress 2 kill your avatar in Diesel clothing ranging in prices from free of charge to €1.50. Or do you rather want to show of your in-door decorating skills by furnishing your apartment, Summer Cottage or any other estate with exclusive Ligne Roset furniture. Maybe even be hired by somebody else.

To take the PlayStation Home Theatre to another level, Sony teamed up with various content providers to enhance the cinematic experience. Expect to see lifestyle technology programming from Hexus TV. Gaming content from Eurogamer and exclusive film content from Paramount Pictures (Maybe Sony Pictures as well in the future).
Paramount Pictures will be using Home to promote it’s latest movies like the highly anticipated film Watchmen to PlayStation®Home residents. You will also be able to get a selection of virtual Watchmen merchandise like T-Shirts with the smiley face logo, Doomsday clocks and character statues. Expect to see these items in (begin) 2009, ahead of an exclusive Q & A event where cast and filmmakers will meet selected press and competition winners fans within the Watchmen themed environment.
So this all seems like good news, but we still wonder how much content will actually be released in Open Beta from the start. With content we mainly mean clothing and furniture. The small store update that was received last week for people who were able to get into the Extended Closed Beta was nice acording to some but still not enough.
Will we be able to play music from our hard disks in our apartment or watch a clip on the TV in you Summer Cottage home. We don’t know yet, but coming tomorrow most questions will be answered, and then the judgement over Home’s potential will really start.
Get ready and be prepared to an experience that will take your Playstation 3 console to a whole other level.

Interesting bit about Home at TGSWith some information related to the Playstation Home beta for Japan, there was some interesting info in SCEJ’s press release.
You already know from us that the Japanese version of Home recently got 24 third party developers and publisher on board to make there own area’s and/or more.
Well it seems that there will be a large-scale closed beta test between late October and early November. This is to prepare for the Open Beta Service which release date will be announced on the official Home website.
The most important bit is that you’ll be able to obtain special items usable within Playstation Home depending on the level of your gameplay.
So does this mean that when you have played a game a lot and gathered enough trophies you will for example be able to walk around in a generals outfit (Warhawk related) or have a golden golfstick in your hands (Hot Shot Golf 5 related). We don’t know but it is getting more and more interesting in what Sony has planned for Home.
Despite the game being originally developed by SCEE it seem SCEJ has taken the foreground to announce most information and many of the features we can expect.
There was no word on Europe and North America getting a similar ’stress test’.

Warhawk Update v1.50 is now availableWell, it has been for about 6 hours now. The new update added a host of new additions including Custom In-Game Music, XMB Trophies, Training Tutorials among several new features to the game. The file size weighs in at 66MB so it’s not too big to download.
Warhawk Operation: Fallen Star alone will cost you $7.99. If you are new to Warhawk and want all the expansions it will set you back $15.99.
Let us know how the new update is and if you like it.

On the official Playstation blog of SCEA, Game Director Dylan Jobe of the Warhawk game announced that the next expansion will hit the Playstation Store on August 28th worldwide.
But first the game will get the 1.5 update on the 27th which is free. This update will include Custom In-Game Music, XMB Trophies, Training Tutorials among several new features to the game.
The price for this new expansion will be $7.99. Sony is also planning to set up a new Booster Combo Pack which includes all 3 of the expansions for only $15.99.
Check the trailer we posted up earlier if you missed it.
This is how the full map will look like.
The map has 10 lay-outs to play on plus the full map shown above.
Another ‘important’ addition is the jetback. The developers saw this as a way to freshen up the game. Time will tell if this plan succeeded.

You can grab them from this tractor machine
Were not going into detail on how you can use this, best to check the blog post as we haven’t been able to play with it ourselves.
One good thing about the jetpack is that you can mount other vehicle while having it on and use it like a ejector seat. I myself am very excited and looking forward to it and hopefully this will increase my PSN activity for that Home beta invite.
Check the whole post over at the Playstation blog which inclused several more images.

Warhawk Operation: Fallen StarThe new expansion pack for Warhawk will be available by the end of the month, and will include a new map: Tau Crater, and a Jetpack for foot soldiers.
Warhawk™: Operation: Fallen Star expansion pack
The third expansion pack for mighty online warfare title Warhawk, Operation: Fallen Star introduces the remote, forested Tau Crater – the site of a crashed Chernovan warship containing invaluable experimental technology. With the Chernovans trying desperately to salvage the ship, the Eucadians have arrived with a view to stealing it for themselves. This pack brings ten new battlefields to the Warhawk experience – as well as the Infantry Jetpack – a personal rocket pack that allows soldiers to soar above the fray of battle into the aerial realm of the Warhawks themselves.
With Incognito continuing to support the Warhawk fanbase, the game continues to get better and better. Don’t forget the FREE 1.5 update is coming on August 27th. The 1.5 update is going to include Trophies, Custom In Game Music, Training Tutorials, and more.
Joystiq was kind enough to release a trailer of the new expansion pack.
We even got some screenshots. Courtesy of Kotaku

Warhawk 1.5 update to add JetPacksThe Warhawk 1.5 update will add a new vehicle type and that vehicle type is Jetpacks! The 1.5 update seems to be getting bigger and bigger adding Trophies and a possible offline game mode.
Kotaku has confirmed the Jetpack rumor to be true.

After finding out that the upcoming Warhawk update 1.5 will add more than 50 Trophies to the game, we’ve also read that it will add offline modes.
Gamesblog.ugo.com think that the mention off offline tutorials (training) will allow you to play against bots.
the brief mention of offline tutorials. I want to know how robust this new offline mode is. Are talking a few quick challenges? How about the ability to play against bots? Remember Bots?
I guess we’ll find out at the end of the month.

So, you are all digging into Uncharted Drake’s Fortune to gather up all the Trophies, the next game you’ll be collecting Trophies in is Warhawk.
Warhawk update/patch 1.5 will introduce Trophies and there will be over 50 to collect. Expect challenges such as hosting a game for four hours, playing a perfect deathmatch (coming 1st with no deaths) and shooting an aircraft down in a tank.
Other features in the 1.5 update include “custom music tracks from the Home Menu”, new paint schemes etc.
Remember, mark the 27th of August down on your calender.

Dylan Jobe Game Director, Warhawk has posted on the Playstation.Blog stating new gameplay modes for every map, including the Booster Packs – and the following new gameplay modes are completely FREE!
The update will be released on the 16th of July at around 10:00 GMT (that’s 3am Pacific).
New Game modes
Hero
This is a team-based game mode in which one member of each team is randomly selected to be their team’s Epic Hero. Players score points for their team by killing the enemy Hero or by killing enemies while they’re the Hero. The team that reaches the score limit first (or has the most points when time runs out) wins the game.
Collection
This new gameplay mode is like multi-flag CTF. There are 4 energy cores scattered around the map, generally positioned in the center or between the 2 team’s main bases. Each team has a Reactor where Energy Cores are taken to score points.
There will be new feature such as Quick Join, Mini-Map Update, TOW Missile, Minimum Rank Server Option, Respawn Selection Hint, Updates for Home Game Launching, Afterburner Flight to Hover Transition, Team Deathmatch Scoring, New “Winning Team” Ribbon, Kick-Idle Player Server Option and Rank & Award Updates.
