If you didn’t buy Tomb Raider: Underworld because it didn’t have trophies well considor again because Eidos have confirmed that a trophy patch is on its way.

Keir Edmonds, Community manager said:

The guys at Crystal have been looking into this for a long time because they really wanted to include it.

The good news is that I can confirm that a patch for the PS3 version of Tomb Raider: Underworld is being worked on that will enable Trophy Support.

For those of you that have played through the game, would you play through again to collect the trophies?

Eric Lindstrom, who was recently laid off, was the creative director for Tomb Raider: Underworld, is apparently answering fan questions on a “Tomb Raider” forums and reveals just how close we may be to getting an M-Rated Lara Croft. How cool would that be? I wonder what the sales would be like.

This is what Lindstrom apparently said.

the Teen rating meant we couldn’t do things we wanted to or were done in the past, but it was a publisher mandate at the tmie. [sic] It won’t always necessarily be so, though, the future can always be different. [Note from Stephen: the line about what was done "in the past" echoes what another former Crystal Dynamics employee once told me about how sound effects and death animations of Lara Croft from the original, "Tomb Raider," which wasn't rated by the ESRB, had to be scrubbed from the recent re-make of that game to get a T rating.]

…The managers who said it had to be Teen left some time ago, so maybe that could change sometime…

…We were torn about making Underworld a Mature title, in the studio. I wanted to do things that a Teen rating prevented, but I also wanted it to get the players the first unrated games, did. In the end it didn’t matter because publishing wanted it to be Teen.

Looking forwards to the mature title? Would you get it?

Maxconsole discovered a post about the latest Tomb Raider. It seems the game runs at 1280×720, 2xAA (with quincunx) on the PlayStation 3 but only 1024×576, 2xAA on the 360.

The exact reason why this is will be hard to tell but with the Tomb Raiders past on the PlayStation and the game selling less on the Xbox 360 compared to it’s competitor it might be the developers prefered the PlayStation above the Xbox 360.

Tomb Raider Underworld was released not so long ago and the sales are currently leading on the Playstation 3. 51 percent of all units sold in it’s first week of release was on the PS3. The Xbox 360 accounted for 34 per cent of sales with the remaining sales made up of Wii, PC and DS SKUs.

What about the exclusive content that is believed to be in the 360 version? Maybe they should release some content for the PS3 version too.
