You read it almost everywhere, but it was never confirmed. Starting on December 31st Free Radical will only have 40 people working at their studio. Then it’s the wait on which company will scoop up the remaining people and it’s projects.

Despite the Star Wars: Battlefront III deal gone sour after two years of development, Timesplitters 4 makes it interesting for other companies to take over the troubled studio after the disappointing Haze reception. Plus the two remaining secret projects according to an employee make the studio even more attractive.

It doesn’t show much, just a monkey trapped in a robot thing… screaming.

No one knows which platform the 4th game in the series will be on, but a recent poll suggest the game could be on the WII or PS3 with the Xbox 360 trailing behind.

Free Radical have launched a new poll in which they ask users to vote where they want to see TimeSplitters 4. At the moment the Wii is winning the poll but the PS3 is coming in at second place. For those of you that want to see TimeSplitters 4 on the PS3 click here to vote on the official Free Radical website.

TimeSplitters 4 details have emerged from the people at the Playstation 3 Magazine (PSM3). According to Derek Littlewood from Free Radical, TimeSplitters 4 won’t be using the Haze graphics engine, yes that engine that got heavily criticized. Free Radical have hinted for some new and double shiny technology. Lets hope they do a better job than Haze, i don’t think Free Radical are stupid enough to repeat their mistakes.

Furthermore, TimeSplitters 2 might see a HD remake according to the magazine that would most likely be released on the Playstation Network.

Timesplitters was a great success on the Playstation 2 with it being a launch title and sequels were just as successful. Developed and designed by Free Radical Design, Timesplitters 4 is on its way and should be released sometime towards the end of 2008 early 2009.
