PS2 games coming to PS3?Could Playstation 2 games appear on the Playstation 3? In the past there have been many rumours saying that there will be a PS2 store.
Sega has released some vital information stating that Sony wants to release all PS2 games on PS3. Sega has a meeting with Sony Computer Entertainment America on the 5th of August and this information was passed around.
The notes reveal that “SCEA wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN.” Whether this will come as a case by case basis, like the God of War remastering, or that Sony is creating a universal emulator for all PS3 models is unknown. We’d personally expect the former, since Grand Theft Auto Vice City is a specific title mentioned.
Would you be happy to see PS2 titles on PS3?

2D Sonic game comingSEGA is hard at work, working away on a new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog that is currently scheduled to be released in 2010. There isn’t alot of details at this moment in time apart from that it will be released on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Ken Ballough of EGA of America said:
[the title ] is that critical first step that brings Sonic back to his 2D roots.
Tails and Knuckles, to me, are essential to Sonic,” he continued. “They bring the perfect blend of personalities to the mix.
But those two have had over 14 years to grow. I think Shadow, Silver, Blaze, and Rouge have also been developed really well into interesting characters. I would love to see Tikal developed because I think she could be very interesting as well.
I think the one character that has yet to find his place is Bark the Polar Bear. I hope he does eventually – it’d be nice to have a cool bear character
So there you have it, a 2D Sonic game on it’s way.

PlayStation 3 let down by Bayonette?1Up was able to get their hands on Bayonetta at a Tokyo event. Their verdict
While the 360 version on display looked crisp and smooth, the PS3 version was very blurry and the framerate was all over the place. During one portion of the demo, a crazy scene where you are jumping off of falling parts of a giant clock tower, it was often hard to keep track of the action because of the graphical issues on PS3.
This doesn’t sound good for Sega as the game has been delayed several times.

AvP – Marine videoStill sure about playing the marines?

Made by Rebellion the next Aliens vs. Predator title looks impressive. That feeling I got back when the title came out on the PC seems to have returned.

If this title is a decent success we might be seeing a new series of the game in a deal struck by SEGA and Twentieth Century Fox.

The story is as following:
On planet BG-386 a colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the stars a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs, whilst deep inside the ruined pyramid a malevolent intelligence awakes from centuries of dormancy.

Though Rebellions say the single player campaign will be impressive and interweaves with the campaigns of the other species. Multiplayer will be very impressive, which will feature an unique 3-way online multiplayer battle.
See the teaser after the break.

Launch trailer of StormriseHere is a trailer of the upcoming game Stormrise that will be released very soon. Take on the role of Aiden Geary and control the conflict across the ravaged Earth.

Valkyria Chronicles is still once underestimated title. Not many people like RPG now a days but this holds something amazing. And with that Sega has decided to bring out the downloadable content to the rest of the world.
Tree packs will be released:
- Hard EX Mode – fight your way once more through the entire Imperial army, where the enemies are more lethal and your main tank Edelweiss is unavailable. You’ll have to be more strategic in order to overcome your opponents.
- Edy’s Mission “Enter the Edy Detachment” – six members have been separated from Squad 7 and on their journey to reunite with the squad, they stumble upon a tiny village under attack by the Imperial Army. Play as Edy and command your outnumbered team to defend the small village from annihilation.
- Selvaria’s Mission “Behind Her Blue Flame” – this mission takes place right after the outbreak of Gallian battle lines and you play as Johann, a young and meek engineer, assigned to Selvaria’s troop. See the action as it unfolds behind enemy lines and see the war play out through the eyes of the enemy.
There is no price or date set for these yet, but discussion has been going on if these are worth getting. We agree you should atleast get the game so RPG will still released outside Japan.

Phantasy Star Portable UK trailerWe’ll post some screenshots later today

After claims of Aliens: Colonial Marines being dead, it was Shacknews who got in contact with Gearbox Software President, Randy Pitchford and found out the game was still alive despite the lay-offs.
Now Sega let know that the game will come out in the first quarter of 2009. Though it is not clear if this is the first quarter of the year or first quarter of the financial year of Sega (which runs from April till June). Videogamer.com couldn’t get a more exact date or month but few fear the game might not come out earlier then the last month of the Q1 or even a delay.

Finally we can go Home – again- released soon
After almost two years and three possible release periods, Home will finally be available to the public from December 11th 2008.
SCEE let know that tomorrow, everybody who has registered to the Playstation Network will be able to download Home from the Playstation Store. There was much speculation of when it would be available and in the latest interviews with people from SCE/Sony/Playstation only increased them.
Kazuo Hirai was proud to say,
PlayStation Home is truly a promising network community service on the PlayStation platform, made possible with the powerful combination of PS3’s overwhelming computational power and PlayStation Network that covers many countries around the globe. We are committed to providing PS3 users with exciting gaming experiences with PlayStation Home and together with our partners and users, expand the new world of interactive entertainment as we move forward.

We’ve heard about different kind of places you can visit like the lately announced ‘Clubs’ or event halls like the Tokyo Games Show, but also special spaces dedicated to certain games. From the start you can expect to have access to a Far Cry 2 space.
Sony has aimed for such game inspired environments so that it allows people to discuss the specific games, plan strategies and access content and clues that will enhance the gaming experience.
Expect more spaces like this to come soon from games like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune™, Warhawk™, Motorstorm and SOCOM (we say this one will be available once the game hits Europe) and even other games.
SCEE has focused on bringing us more of these engaging environments together with Electronic Arts, UBISOFT, Midway, Sega and Atari that will provide users with an on-going gaming experience.

We already know that Red Bull had it’s own thing coming in Home but joined by other brands like Fashion leader Diesel, furniture designers Ligne Roset, Paramount Pictures, video content providers Hexus TV and Eurogamer they are one of the first to provide us with content once the Open Beta launches.
Expect to Dress 2 kill your avatar in Diesel clothing ranging in prices from free of charge to €1.50. Or do you rather want to show of your in-door decorating skills by furnishing your apartment, Summer Cottage or any other estate with exclusive Ligne Roset furniture. Maybe even be hired by somebody else.

To take the PlayStation Home Theatre to another level, Sony teamed up with various content providers to enhance the cinematic experience. Expect to see lifestyle technology programming from Hexus TV. Gaming content from Eurogamer and exclusive film content from Paramount Pictures (Maybe Sony Pictures as well in the future).
Paramount Pictures will be using Home to promote it’s latest movies like the highly anticipated film Watchmen to PlayStation®Home residents. You will also be able to get a selection of virtual Watchmen merchandise like T-Shirts with the smiley face logo, Doomsday clocks and character statues. Expect to see these items in (begin) 2009, ahead of an exclusive Q & A event where cast and filmmakers will meet selected press and competition winners fans within the Watchmen themed environment.
So this all seems like good news, but we still wonder how much content will actually be released in Open Beta from the start. With content we mainly mean clothing and furniture. The small store update that was received last week for people who were able to get into the Extended Closed Beta was nice acording to some but still not enough.
Will we be able to play music from our hard disks in our apartment or watch a clip on the TV in you Summer Cottage home. We don’t know yet, but coming tomorrow most questions will be answered, and then the judgement over Home’s potential will really start.
Get ready and be prepared to an experience that will take your Playstation 3 console to a whole other level.

Sonic Unleashed Europe TrailerWow, how good does this game look. Sonic is back and he’s going to unleash some power. Check out this trailer. The only thing is it putting me off from Sonic Unleashed is that the gameplay seems a little too fast but it looks kinda easy to play.
Sonic Unleashed will be released late 2008.
“Sonic must race to restore the planet in an adventure unlike any other!”
