According to the latest issue of the Official Playstation Magazine (UK) Capcom are to add more white enemies into Resident Evil 5.

A lot of gamers were very unhappy and felt Resident Evil 5 is racist towards African people.

“…gunning down mobs of angry Africans could be ’subtly racist’…It’s not just that these zombies are black, but that the uninfected black villagers are zombie-like too,”

“See all those spooky shots of the villagers before they get infected? It’s as if race itself were a disease. The white protagonist has to fight back or be infected.”

Quotes from Gamespot.

Well yes, according to the magazine Capcom are to add more white people/enemies into the game. Capcom has responded to the racist accusation, maybe this is one of their ‘big’ E3 announcements?

Capcoms upcoming survival horror is around 60 percent complete according to the development team. Jun Takeuchi the producer said:

“Right now, in the development process we’re about 60 percent of the way through,”

This might sound like its ages away until the released but there will be more than 20 hours of gameplay says Takeuchi.

“We’re figuring that the total play time in the game will be over 20 hours. As you can probably see from the trailer there’s a lot of different content and materials in the game for you to enjoy.”

Lets hope it is more than 20 hours because the previous instalments were below 10 hours.

In March PSU posted a rumor regarding the Resident Evil 5 release date and they said we could expect RE5 as early as october. PSU have now received an update from a source saying that Capcom have pushed RE5 to be released in November.

“Sherry Birkin (the young girl who assisted Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2) will play a role in Resident Evil 5.”

Resident Evil 5 takes place 10 years after Resident Evil 2 so that means Sherry Birkin is around 22 years of age.

A new trailer is set to be released on the 31st of May 2008. Also a mysterious countdown has appeared on the Official Resident Evil website. Take a look at it and tell us what you think this could be? Do you think it has anything to do with the upcoming trailer?
