70% of Playstation 3 games that are already released will be compatible with Sony’s answer to Xbox Live’s Achievement system, Trophies.

The July issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK states that:

“PlayStation 3 achievements – called ‘trophies’ – will be unveiled soon (this bit we already know, but here’s the interesting bit), and 70% of games will already be compatible.”

This could be true because apparently it only takes developers half a days work to implement the trophy system into their games.

What games do you hope that will support Trohpies?

Grand Theft Auto IV
Uncharted Drakes Fortune
Metal Gear Solid 4

Gamefly, an online retailer has listed two Star Ocean titles “Star Ocean: First Departure” and “Star Ocean: Second Evolution”. On the Gamefly’s website both titles are listed for a September the 30th release.

“Out of the blue Gamefly is listing both games with a placeholder September 30th release date. We’re probably not getting both PSP Star Ocean remakes on the same day, but this is the first sign of them.

Also interesting is Gamefly lists the Last Remnant as a PSP game. This is most likely an error since we know the game is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Let’s hope Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution aren’t privy to the same kind of mistake.”

Apparently Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet is in development for the Playstation Portable according to Computer and Videogames. No one knows how the PSP version will work and what the game will look and feel like. If this rumor is true then expect the PSP and PS3 versions to link up for possible features such as transferable levels or use the PSP as a level editing tool.
