Capcom classics will be making their way to the Playstation Store starting today.  Ryan McDougall, Marketing Coordinator of Capcom recently published a post over on the US PSBlog to basically promote the library of classics we could see on the store.

I’m here to bring you word of our upcoming PlayStation classics, a library of classic games being brought to you on the PlayStation Network. We’ve sorted through our archives and hand-selected the games that rocked the industry. All of these upcoming classics will be released over the PSN, and will be playable on your PSP.

Basically Capcom will be choosing the classic titles and you’ll be able to download and play them on your Playstation Portable. Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed is the first classic and will be released today.

Capcom serves up a collection of classic games in Capcom Classics Collection. You can relive more than 20 classic titles including 1942, Final Fight, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, and Commando. The games can be played in either one- or two-player mode. Capcom Classics Collection also includes bonus material, such as remixed soundtracks, game tips, and original artwork.

More arcade classics are on the way to the Playstation Network and the latest reveal is Strikers 1945 Plus. So whats new? The Plus version will feature revamped graphics, ad-hoc cooperative mode , 6 planes and a new endless play mode.

The classic game will be published by PM Studios and will be released in July for the Playstation Portable at a price that is currently unknown.

Thats right, you’ll be able to transfer cars from Gran Turismo Portable onto Gran Turismo 5. Kazunori Yamauchi showed a video at E3 2009, the first ever video of the portable version of Gran Turismo. Polyphony Digital are trying to implement alot of features into this title and one of them if this.

Whether it be from PSP to GT5, to even future renditions, GT6 and on, you can carry over the cars as YOUR cars, as something you own, even if the system changes, you can keep it

Ubisoft have officially announced that Assassin’s Creed 2 will be making it’s way to the Playstation Portable. This will be interesting to see how it looks and plays on the portable system.

Also, the game has a release window of a holiday 2009 which is good news. Around Xmas maybe?

Earlier we reported of new PSP colors heading to Japan. Sony and Koei already has plans to make a bundle to sell one of these new PSPs. In the bundle, you’ll receive a Radiant Red PSP, Shin Sangoku Musou MULTI RAID (Dynasty Warriors), and a Shin Sangoku Musou MULTI RAID pouch. 

There was no pricing available for the bundle, and the target release for this bundle is March 3rd.

Japan is getting new PSP colors. Beginning on March 5th, Vibrant Blue and Radiant Red will be available for purchase on March 5th. The pricing range of these two colors are ¥19,800 (US$223). 

Then beginning on March 19th, Bright Yellow, and Spirited Green will be available for purchase. These two colors will also be priced at ¥19,800 (US$223). If that doesn’t hit your fancy, then you’ll be able to purchase them as a Value Pack, conveniently priced at ¥24,800 ($270). Contained in this said Value Pack is a PSP, AC adapter, 4GB Memory Stick, battery pack, matching color pouch to hold your PSP in, and a strap.

The sequel to Patapon will release on the PlayStation Network instead of on UMD on February 19th. The pricing is unknown at this time. 

This may also prove more so that UMD is getting replaced by online distribution via PSN.

Shuhei Yoshida says this year will be the year for big exclusive titles for the PlayStation 3. Some of them being Killzone 2, MAG, God of War 3, and the list goes on. He also says there are other exclusive titles that haven’t even been announced yet. Hopefully they will be unveiled during GDC or E3. Nothing much has been said in the PSP front, except that we will see some new innovations for the handheld. 

In an interview with David Reeves, he also says this year will be a great year for the PlayStation 3. What he expects out of 2009, is a goal to start making profits off of the console. When they hit their achievement, then they can move onward. He mentions about the video and music service to release in PAL regions by year’s end.

In the latest V-Jump magazine in Japan, some new screens have surfaced for Final Fantasy XIII. A name of the red headed female has also been given, along with a battle sequence. The name revealed appears to be Oerba Dia Vanille. Click the gallery below to view them.

Two new trailers for the upcoming PSP game, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. The two video depicts actual gameplay footage set in two different worlds and characters. 

Sony plan to launch another Playstation Portable model before launching the Playstation Portable 2. A PSP-4000 model will be launch late 2009, the next PSP will be the second one. Apparently developers are already working on games for the PSP 2, this is what publishing sources told Eurogamer.

Sony UK told Eurogamer today that it would not comment on rumour and speculation.

What do you think the PSP 2 will be like?

In Japan, Sony awards titles that are hits in Japan. In order to get these awards, they had to meet a certain criteria for the company. The Gold award is given to games that have shipped 500,000-1,000,000 copies. While the Double Platinum award is given to those that achieved shipments of one million through two million copies. Here are the games that were recognized for their accomplishments:
