PSP FW 6.1 Coming SoonThe latest firmware update for the PlayStation Portable will be releasing soon. This update is in response to the launch of the PSPGo! tomorrow. A couple new features are:
SensMe, a music application which organizes your music playlist into different categorizations.
Media Go will also gain some enhancements getting a new interface giving it somewhat of an iTunes feel.

Along with Bluetooth tethering for the PSPGo! Bluetooth tethering is a feature where you’ll be able to connect your PSP to a bluetooth mobile device, for example if your phone supports bluetooth, and your nowhere near a Hotspot. You’ll be able to use your phone as a modem in order to access the internet on your PSP.

PSP FW 6.00 Out NowThe newest firmware update for the PSP has just been released, bringing a few minor changes.
- For those of you looking to customize your XMB (XrossMediaBar), a few new colors will be added under the Theme Settings. These new theme colors can be used on PSP models 2000 or after (PSP-2000, 3000 and N1000).
- A security patch has been added.
- [Network Update] has been renamed as [System Update].
Also noted was a new folder under the Games Section, with an expiration date. Does it point out for future game rentals?

The next Playstation Portable firmware update 5.00 will add a host of new features. Eric Lempel, Director, PlayStation Network Operations has informed readers that firmware version 5.00 will add the ability to to sign up to the Playstation Netowork, manage your account and access the Playstation Store using your PSP. This will all be accessible through the Playstation Network icon on the XMB.
This update will add a sleep timer option that can be used while you are playing music on your PSP.
In addition, we’ve added a full screen keyboard option for text entry and have redesigned the background of the XMB.

Early today the 4.05 firmware for the PSP was announced to be released soon.
It would contain some new visualizers for music playback.But we all know how Sony is with firmware updates for the PSP and PS3, there are always a few hidden feaures as well. We’ll see what we bump into.

playstationlifestyle.net Announced that 4.05 is live, so get it will it’s hot.
Update 2: Seems playstationlifestyle discovered something else. The 4.05 support page has been updated with another feature which is included in the firmware. Seems it adds support for PLAYSTATION®Store Movies and TV video service. This shoudl be interesting.

Official Playstation Blog have posted a little update on the Playstation Portable’s next firmware update which will be version 4.01.
The following are fixes:
- Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
- Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.
This is just a minor update and will be available in the next few hours.

The official Playstation Blog has hit us with some Playstation Portable firmware version 4.00. They say its going to be released soon and will feature Google Internet search directly to the Cross Media Bar.
“This new upgrade replicates the Google Internet search experience, delivering the same search results that you’d get at www.google.com. And with a search history recall of 20 items, Web searches couldn’t be easier.”
Another feature that will be included into the 4.00 firmware update is the ability to change viewing speed during playback of videos stored on your Memory Stick PRO Duo. So basically you can speed through or slow down what you’re watching.
