New PSP colors in Taiwan
Sony Asia keeps pouring out consoles and hand-helds in different colours and themes we can hardly keep track. The newest colours which will be available in Taiwan starting January 17th are Radiant Red and Vibrant Blue. The new models which are of the PSP-3000 series are part of a group labelled “Carnival Color”. So this might be the first two colours of more to come.

No word yet if these colours will be released in other regions.

Don’t expect a PSP 2 any time soonWith concepts of a possible PSP 2 hitting the web since the PSP-2000 and the lately ‘leaked’ info about a possible manufacturer, Sony still denies their working on a PSP 2.
No, there are currently no plans for a PSP2. I go to Tokyo quite a lot and no one has referred to it – I think they have their hands full at the moment
Sony’s main focus is to keep improving the PSP with help of the latest version of the PSP-3000 which David Reeves feels still needs to really hit the market. One way is to stimulate the PSP (sales and attention) through methods like a dedicated PSP version of the PlayStation Store for downloadable titles.
Nintendo has been doing this well with the transition from the DS to the DS lite and the now currently flagship DSi. And Mr Reeves hopes the PSP can do the same.
But it has it’s Kryptonite and that is developer dedication.
Its weakness, however, is its software. And that’s because developers, when it comes to placing their bets, have to choose PS3 and 360, then Wii, then DS, maybe even PS2 before PSP. It’s the same at our internal studios, where the focus has been on PS3.
We still believe in the PSP, not because it’s a Playstation product but the innovating technology it brings between the PS3 and the PSP.

140,000 New PSPs Sold in JapanThe new PSP-3000 has been released in Japan on October 16th. Within 4 days of the new handheld’s release, it has sold 141,270 units. Not only that but the PSP-1000, and PSP-2000 sold 155,720 units between October 13th-19th.

Both Resistance Retribution and Resistance 2 will be able to connect and interact between eachother.
To do this, you’ll need to connect your PSP to the PS3, via USB. Once you have them connected, go to the Resistance 2 options and select “Infect your PSP” What is infect your PSP you say? Well read below to find out what it is.
Infected mode provides an alternate story within our alternate history. While in prison for desertion, Grayson is recruited by Specter Lieutenant David LaSalle (from the R2 storyline) and is infected with a mutated version of the Chimeran virus … a different version of the virus that infects Nathan Hale.
While playing in “infected” mode, Grayson wears a Specter uniform and has glowing Chimeran eyes. He gets to use one of the new weapons from R2: the HE .44 Magnum, which fires explosive rounds that can be triggered remotely. He has regenerative health and no longer needs to look for health packs. He can breathe underwater, allowing him to reach hidden areas that he could not reach before. And we’ve added another whole class of Intel that are hidden throughout the levels. Collecting all of the “infected” intel will unlock another R2 weapon, the Plasma Grenades.
Not only that but they have also announced a new feature called PSP Plus+. PSP Plus+ is a new feature where you’ll be able to connect your PSP to your TV (Limited to PSP 2000, and PSP 3000 models). Then you’ll be able to use your DUALSHOCK 3 to play your PSP games.

No GC08 PSP bundles for UKOver at Gamesindustry.biz some doubt was cast on which bundles the UK might be receiving.
David Reeves announced at Leipzig that Sony would be releasing 2 new bundles for the PSP.
These are the silver PSP-3000 plus Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and black PSP-3000 plus 4GB Memory Stick. The United Kingdom won’t be getting these lovely bundles apparently. A yet to be announced bundle will probably take these two’s place as the price of GBP 149.99 price and release dat of 17th October are not a standalone PSP-3000.
The PSP-3000 will not be sold separately in the UK for the next few months after it’s release
The rest of Europe can get a hold of the Ratchet and Clank pack on October 15th and a still to be named date in november for the 4GB pack. You can count for a bundle price around EUR 199.

PSP-3000 better then toldAccording to a report from Engadget Japan the LCD screen on the new PSP has a more colorful, a stronger contrast ratio, and a faster response time.
The stats show that:
- Color gamut is twice as wide.
- The contrast ratio is improved 5 times.
- The response time has doubled
This is very good news to gamers who complained about ghosting. Count this in with the screen being able to resist glare (must still be tested in the field) and you could say this is a good upgrade of an hardware.
