If you want the best out of Prototype you are going to have to buy the Playstation 3 version because it looks better than the Xbox 360 version. Here’s why.

All debris on the ground is individually shadow-mapped in the PS3 game. This provides more depth for ground textures and creates a very impressive image for an open-world game.

So what does this mean? Take a look at the two images below, the top image is PS3 and bottom is 360.

The Playstation 3 version of Prototype has an installation bug where if you have enough space on your hard drive it will tell you that you haven’t.

What you need to do is change your hard drive space by 700mb, you can achieve this by adding 700mb worth of data and removing 700mb. This can be done in a number of ways including the following:

- Installing or uninstalling another PS3 game that allows hard drive installation.
- Downloading game demos.
- Removing downloadable content.
- Adding / removing MP3’s or movies from the hard drive.
- Etc.

Once you have made these changes you should be able to install the game properly.

A patch will be released shortly.

For those of you looking out for a Prototype demo will be left slightly dissapointed after finding out that there will not be a pre-release demo.

That doesn’t mean they will never release the demo, Activision just don’t want to release a demo before the game is released on the 9th of June 2009. We are guessing a week later. Could this effect game sales?

In case you didn’t know, Prototype will not have any multiplayer online modes but will focus on a great single-player experience.

Radical’s Tim Bennison says:

Prototype is 100 percent focused on a great single-player experience,

The game is an origin story that weaves a government conspiracy around the main character of Alex Mercer, and we really need to get those elements perfect.

So with all focus on single-player, the development team has managed to concentrate on the over-the-top powers and abilities of Alex’s shape-shifting and combat skills.

The biggest benefit of focusing purely on single-player is the team’s ability to really maximize the over-the-top powers and abilities of Alex’s shape-shifting and combat skills.

The first time a player throws a corrupt Blackwatch soldier into the blades of an attack chopper, we think they’ll have a big smile on their face.

Prototype will be released on the 12th of June 2009.

Prototype got delayed until 2009 a month or two back and here’s why.

Prototype got delayed to 2009 because the developers wanted more time to make the game they really want to make. Basically they want to make the game a better game. There’s also a chance they could put multiplayer mode back in that was taken out during development a few months ago.

They have until 2009 so i think multiplayer will make it.

Prototype looks very promising indeed, check out the ps3 gameplay video. Prototype was going to be released by the end of 2008 but the Sierra have announced that the studio needs more time and will be released sometime in 2009.

Sierra told MCV in a statement:

“Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment have made the decision to shift Protoype to launch in 2009.”

‘Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create.”

“Both Sierra and Radical are fully aware and appreciative of the multiple ‘Most Anticipated Games of 2008’ accolades and continued enthusiasm by all, however, date changes are common in this industry, especially for publishers and developers committed to launching great games.  Further details on Prototype’s 2009 launch timing will be revealed at a later date.”

Looks like we will have to wait even longer to get our hands on this great looking game.
