Codemasters let know yesterday that they are going to release the Dirt 2 demo on the PlayStation Store. Though the date is not solid it seems that today will be the day.

The most exciting, intense, off-road racing game of the year is almost upon us, with the game hitting shop shelves on September 11th. With the digital media slowly rising and PlayStation taking advantage of this in terms of PSP games, movies and tv shows made available through the PlayStation Store, the question remains when will we expect a full PS3 game (ie. Killzone 2, MGS4, God of War II) to come on the store as well, the answer:

It’s not something we have planned, just because the size of the games is massive. With Blu-ray we can put up to 50 gigs on a dual-layer disc, while [Xbox 360] is still on a 9-gig media. So technically it’s possible, but I think the issue would be, Do you want to download 40 gigs and keep that on your hard drive?’ I think there’s great opportunity there in the future, and it’s something we’ll always look at, but for the time being it’s not a direction we’re going in

This seems to be a contra move compared to Microsoft is planning since they decided to drop the Xbox Originals service in favour of a new service which will include full Xbox 360 titles. But it isn’t a definite no.
