PSP Go downloads starting at $1
It almost sounds like the prices people are used to on the iTunes store, only this time for the PlayStation. PocketGamer is claiming “PSPgo games will be as cheap as iPhone games”.
With the rumours increasing by the hour for Gamescom, this low pricing structure for games also means Sony will have relaxed its business model to enable small development studios to get involved with PSP.

Gamedivision.jp had an interview with Head of Product Planning for SCE, Naoya Matsui. In this interview he reveals that Sony were just waiting for the digital market to ‘mature’ a bit.
We wanted to release it when the delivery of digital content was on par with the delivery of physical media. That’s what we’ve been working on these past two years. We’ll be selling the PSP Go alongside the existing PSP models, because it’s a product targeted at those people who are more accustomed to digital content.
People still needed to get used to the digital format, but replacing an entire or atleast for now let it co-exist format will not go well with the people that stayed with an format deemed a failure from the start.
Talking about the hardware
We’d planned to release a PSP model without a UMD drive since the very beginning. But if we’d simply released the hardware, there wouldn’t have been much for everyone to enjoy. We needed to prepare the right environment for it first, things like the transferral of content with the PS3 and PSN, and PC software to manage content like music and movies such as ‘Media Go
The content transferral is still not strong enough, especially in the SCEE region which is missing two important things which could have helped in measuring the popularity of digital downloads, those are the Video Store and PSN cards.
We hope Sony realises and do something about it before they launch the PSP Go!

Following last weeks “threat” from Activision, Capcom has come out to support the PlayStation platform. On the US PlayStation Blog, worried PlayStation gamer commedie asked Shawn Baxter of Capcom if they are going to stop support the PS3/PSP in the future like activision is?
Shawn replied with the following
I don’t see that happening. Monster Hunter has sold over 8.5 million on the PSP worldwide
I hope this settles worried minds for now. And with the score at 1-1, let’s see if more will come out to speak and behind who they will stand.

While some of us are still waiting on White Knight Chronicles, PS3center found out that Japanese magazine, Famitsu has confirmed another PlayStation 3 exclusive RPG.
The game will go by the name of Trinity Zill O’ll Zero and is the latest addition to a franchise made by Koei. The game was originally released for the PS1, and later remade for the PS2 and ported to the PSP.
Though details are still limited, Trinity Zill O’ll Zero will be a darker themed, mature RPG.

Finally for those who live in the PAL region and did not make a Japanese account, the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite demo will hit the PlayStation Store on Thursday the 28th.
In the immense popular Capcom title (in Japan), you’ll be able to play three quests before the game gets officially released on June 26th.
Players can adventure with up to three friends to get a taste of the multiplayer social gaming phenomenon that’s taking Japan by storm or choose to go it alone with the aid of a Felyne companion.

PSN user Res215dg spotted the extra strong battery for the PlayStation Portable again and bought one.
The battery was previously announced in November of 2007 but later stopped in August of 2008. But with the problems of the PSP-3000 arising, SCEA Hardware Marketing Director John Koller probably thought it would be wise to bring the item back to the sales line.
You’ll be able to get the battery at Sony Style Store, where it’s currently in backorder for $44.99. And soon at other retailers. Also included in the pack are replacement door like with the old extended battery kit.

With Motorstorm: Pacific Rift bringing the amazing dirt racing back. Sony found it more then logical to bring the game to the PlayStation Portable.
How how do you shrink a game and keep the quality (gameplay mostly) intact. Game Director Richard Ogden tells us how

As the internet makes people more and more lazy to do certain tasks (online grocery shopping) and governments urging gamers to keep active by moving (around and sporting). Gadget Brando has something new on their webshop.
