It has been revealed that Naughty Dog plan to outdo scenes in Uncharted 2. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckman commented on how they were going to top Uncharted 2’s train sequence:

We’re Naughty Dog right? When we approach a new project, we can’t just make it slightly better, because people’s memory of the stuff is always better than what it actually was so it has to be so much better, so that it really stands out.

So whatever we do next, it can’t just be another train with just better combat or just a slightly better scripted sequence, it’s got to be so much more over the top and it really has to take it to the next level.

I would think that what he was pitching would top the train quite a bit, but that’s all we can say,” Amy Hennig added.

Do you think this could be for Uncharted 3 or another game like Jak and Daxter?

We’re not talking about the rapper Drake but about Nathan Drake from the Uncharted games. Following Amy Hennig comment to D’toid that folks may not have seen the last of Nathan Drake.

The hero is still popular enough to develop another sequel

There is no limit to how many games we could make, as long as people still want to see more adventures with Nathan Drake. Obviously, none of us want to wear our welcome out, but we are still having a lot of fun with it, and we think there is a lot of untapped possibilities there

Though that sounds they could milk this till it’s worthless like the Need for Speed franchise we hope Naughty Dog approach this concept better then EA has.

Naughty Dog announced over at the US PlayStation Blog that the multiplayer demo for Uncharted 2 is now available for download. With the demo clocking at 1.3GB, you’ll get all the standard multiplayer features. There are 4 Competitive maps, 2 Co-op modes.

Head on over to the PlayStation Store and download it now.

Firmware 3.0 consisted mostly out of cosmetical changes (thank god they fixed the battery icon over the clock ‘bug’), it has been causing some issues to games.

Several people have posted on the US PlayStation forum and Neogaf that they are unable to play Uncharted for longer then 20-30 without freezing.

The question remains, who will bring a patch to solve this, SCE or Naughty Dog (and developers of the games affected). We’re putting our money on the first.

A new feature being added to an already anticipated title has been shown off by Machinima.com. Yes, you heard that right, machinima.com. You’ll be able to make your very own machinima within the game thanks to Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog had gotten help and feedback from the minds behind Machinima.com, making this one of the most great experiences in the game. You’ll be able to do anything within the machinima mode, tweaking lighting, fog, camera angles, and camera speed. There’s a green screen for you to use to make things easier. To top the cinema mode off, there will be Bluetooth support, meaing when you use your Bluetooth headset, your character will automatically lip sync with the words you’ll be speaking. Catch the video below of Cinema Mode in action.

Though first there was proof of the game requiring a 1,7 GB install, Naughty Dog president Christophe Balestra has tweeted that that simply isn’t the case. His tweet read

Uncharted 2 does not require any install

Though this doesn’t matter for people who installed the WD 500 GB harddrive *cough*me*cough* it’s great news for people who who’s drive is getting fuller rand fuller with PSN only games like Fat Princess.

After watching an episode of GameTrailers TV, the people at PlayStation Lifestyle informed their readers that Naughty Dog made a surprising remark.

Kevin, the multiplayer lead, told GameTrailers that he and his team could update Uncharted 2’s multiplayer mode “without patching”. He even went so far as to say that Naughty Dog could update playlists and even make changes to the levels without PS3 owners worrying about downloading the newest patch.

However, when faced with big issues they will patch the game in a normal way.

That’s the question Naughty Dog is asking through twitter.

Though we missed a special/collectors edition with Killzone 2, God of War III will definitely be getting one. Now the question remains if gamers value a 80 plus euro/pound/dollar edition, which usually included an art book and a behind the scene’s disc.

But is that all we want in a special edition? For me no. Example, Fallout 3. The lunch box and bobble head made the choice for my purchase. Grand Theft Auto 4 also had it with the bag, locker box and key chain.
Such special/collector edition make it worth getting.

But what can you include in a Uncharted edition? You tell us.

Speaking with Three Speech in an interview, the Naughty Dog team is believed to be using just 30 to 40 percent of the Playstation 3’s power. This is what Richard Lemarchand Co-Lead Game Designer of Uncharted has to say:

“That’s why we think we’re probably only using 30 or 40 per cent of the power of the PS3 right now, and there’s this great, untapped potential. All third-party developers can get the Edge libraries for free and are going to be able to use them in their own ways, to get more and more and more out of the PS3 over the years.”

Uncharted Drake’s Fortune has been tipped to be the best looking PS3 game to date and it’s only using 30 to 40 percent of the power behind the PS3? *looks forward to the future*.

Thats right folks, the whole world can now start Trophy hunting in Uncharted Drake’s Fortune because the patch 1.10 has now been released in North America after it was released in Europe earlier.

Looks like the patch was earlier than expected after reports saying the patch will be available by mid August.

The Playstation.Blog has posted useful information on the update, check their post out here.

Since medals and Trophies are essentially the same, anyone who has played Uncharted already knows what they have to do to get any one Trophy. If you’re a better gamer than I am and worked to get all the medals before, then you already know what all of the hidden Trophies are.

Naughty Dog has released an update for Uncharted Drake’s Fortune. This update v1.10 enables trophy support and is only available for Europe for the time being.

The patch weighs in at 13MB, you’ll be prompted to download an update for the game when you next go to play it.

No word on an American release apart from an email we received from Naughty Dog a couple of weeks back stating the 22nd. Could this be the American release of the patch?

We think it will most likely hit earlier than the 22nd. Maybe Naughty Dog wanted to beat Buzz. Check this out.

Did you want to know more regarding the upcoming Trophy patch for Uncharted. IGN has been speaking with senior manager of marketing communications of Naughty Dog, Arne Meyer.

First of all there will be a total of 48 trophies to collect in Uncharted, 47 of which are related to what you do in the game, for example, finding treasures, hand to hand or gun combat. The 48th Trophy is the Platinum and you can achieve this by collecting all the other Trophies.

If you head straight over to IGN and read the full Q&A you will find a lot more information.

While listening to the Playstation Nation Podcast we heard that the Uncharted Trophies are coming on the 22nd of August which is just under a month away. Quite a while for those craving for them.

We contacted Naughty Dog earlier for confirmation and one of the representatives responded with:

“Yes, trophies will be released on August 22 if all goes to plan”

I’m sure it will go to plan, Naughty Dog are always on target. With Trophies on the way for Uncharted, i think i’m going to play through the game again just to get the Trophies and level up.

Naughty Dog has spoken about Uncharted 2 saying that they developed Uncharted Drake’s Fortune as a franchise.

The Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells told ThreeSpeech:

“We developed Uncharted as a franchise. The pulp action/adventure genre lends itself perfectly to serialization and continued episodes which is one of the reasons we were attracted to it,”

“Right now we are brainstorming on what Naughty Dog’s next project will be, but even if we don’t do an Uncharted sequel right away, you can pretty much count on us doing one in the near future.”
