Beginning February, MTV and other properties will have over 200,000 hours of shows added to the PlayStation Networks Video Service. This was just announced in todays keynote at the Consumer Electronics show. This means everybody that has access to the Video Store will be able to purchase and download Spongebob Squarepants, reality shows and some classics.

“We’re thrilled to add content from MTV Networks to our line up, it’s a perfect fit for the PlayStation(R) demographic, one of the most coveted audiences in entertainment today,” said Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of Marketing and PlayStation Network, SCEA. “Combined with the superior technology of the PS3 and PSP, the PlayStation Network’s video delivery service truly provides consumers the best and most comprehensive content on demand from an incredible line up of entertainment brands to enjoy at home or on-the-go.”

“From Nickelodeon to TV Land and everywhere in between, MTV Networks’ brands feature some of the most popular shows and some of the hottest stars for almost every conceivable demo,” said Greg Clayman, Executive Vice President, Digital Distribution and Business Development, MTV Networks. “By making our diverse content lineup available through the PlayStation Network, we’re giving PlayStation users instant access to hundreds of hours of our very best programming in the comfort of their own living rooms.”

New shows will be available for download when available throughout Spring.

Stephen Totilo from MTV Multiplayer was glad enough to parade around with his LBP copy. Since were not that ‘Pro’ yet we’ll have to get our own copy on the games release date.

Reviewers are not allowed to voice their opinion until October 14th, but he was glad to give us an impression of the box(art). From (re)viewing the box he was able to read that the game will be in 720P, supports up to four players online and require a measly 600MB on your PS3.

There was one thing that could harm a reviewers view of the game if they didn’t manage to play it online. That is because the servers won’t be online until October 21st. So most of them will be stuck with playing the standard levels on there and/or creating their own levels and trying to remember how the online experience was (if they had any).
