Playstation Home a potential system seller?Dan Hill believes that Playstation Home can become a system seller in the future. Home offers new possibilities for companies to create revenue through advertisements.
In time I would say that Home will definitely become a reason to purchase [PS3]. Today, we are at the beginning of a long journey – now is the time to start its evolution
The PlayStation Network is getting better all the time, and Home is integral to our online offering. If you buy a PS3 and you grow with us, as Home evolves, you are going to become part of something very special, something unlike you can experience anywhere else.
He may be right on the PS3 giving you a certain experience you can’t find anywhere else, but Home becoming a system seller will be out of the question. Home still lacks a certain amount of features which were promised in the beginning. Of course things change to get a quicker release date, but with 2 big delays, a server problem in Europe and a much heated discussion about the micro transaction fees in certain regions that dream will not happen in the next year.
Home is not for everybody and there are different types of users that own a Playstation 3. You have the ones that just want to play a game, the online gamers, the multimedia freaks, the trophy whores collectors and many more types. The experience on the PS3 is different for everybody. And by believing that a majority of those people are willing to pay for stuff that they don’t actually own (read virtual stuff) is pushing it too far to be a system seller.
Major titles like Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Resistence 2 those are system seller. It is because these games have history and a solid fan base which are two pillars for a system seller.

Want to have a look at what the Japanese version of the Metal Gear Solid 4 official Sountrack looks like? Below are pictures of the Limited edition of MGS4 and of course the Japanese OST.
The manual is made of very high quality glossy paper and is semi see through as well. Lyrics included from the various songs in the game, and oh the cover is just so damn majestic

After many reports saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 is the last in the series. Fear not, Hideo Kojima himself has stated that he has got to think about Metal Gear Solid 5.
Kojima said:
“I gotta start thinking about MGS5… Even though, well, Snake’s story ends in MGS4. …About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think.”
Previous statements from Ryan Payton suggested that there will be a MGS5 but not with Solid Snake as Snake’s story ends in MGS4.
My opinion is that yes there will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 but Solid Snake won’t be in the game. Raiden anyone?

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the second highest scoring console exclusive(This Gen). With a Metacritic score of 95/100, it puts itself above:
1) Gears of war (94/100)
2) Halo 3 (94/100)
3) Super Smash Bros. Brawl (94/100)
The highest game currently is Grand Theft Auto IV with a score of 98/100. The highest scoring console exclusive is held by Super Mario Galaxy at 97/100.
What is Metacritic?

Good news for Konami and Playstation 3. This is a must have game for any PS3 owner.

Metal Gear Solid 5 could be a prequel rather than a sequel. With recent discussions regarding MGS5, here, here, here, and here.
Speaking with 1UP, Ryan Payton assistant producer of MGS4 said “still a lot of room for filling in the gaps as far as Big Boss is concerned.”
“There are some misunderstandings that this is the final Metal Gear game. But it’s really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That’s all.”
Payton being questioned with the possibility of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5, he responded with this:
“because it gets to the point where if we continue on with Metal Gear Solid 5 with more Solid Snake adventures, we’ll get to the point where the game has absolutely no basis in reality. I do like the idea that this character has had four or five big missions and then that’s when it ended, rather than have 20 missions where there’s no chance in hell a secret agent could ever survive. He’s had four or five really big missions, and that seems a little more realistic to me.”
Maybe they will introduce some new characters or it could well be a sequel with Solid Snake – thats not carrying on the adventures, thats telling the story of what happened in the past. Who knows.

“The MGS4 database is a great way to catch up for someone new to Metal Gear, as well as a useful resource for any veteran of the series, with complete official details on every aspect of the intricate Metal gear lore.”
So i bet your wondering about spoilers? Fear not because all spoilers will be blacked out until you’ve finished MGS4.
“The MGS4 Database also contains a special feature – if you want to make use of the database, but have not yet fully played through MGS4 yet and are worried about spoilers – all MGS4 spoilers are “blacked out” until you’ve beaten MGS4. Give it a try!”

Most difficult PS3 gamesHere’s a list of the most difficult Playstation 3 games we have experienced. While some games are easy to finish and complete, others are rock solid.
In no particular order:
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma
- Timeshift
- Singstar
- Crossfire
- Gundam
- The Darkness (on highest difficulty)
- Call of Duty 4 (on highest difficulty)
- Metal Gear Solid 4 on the hardest setting
The hardest on that list is probably Ninja Gaiden Sigma, i remember getting really frustrated playing that game.

The long awaited Metal Gear Solid 4 is released today and we want to share some new screenshots with you. My copy is currently in the post being sent to me so i can’t mention anything on the game as of yet but i’m sure i’ll review it sometime this week or next.
Anyway check out the updated screenshot gallery for MGS4.

MGS4 Screenshots

Hideo Kojima has recently said in an interview that he may leave the Metal Gear series into the hands of his younger colleagues and the man himself will take a different role in the next Metal Gear game. Kojima said:
“Maybe I’ll sit in as producer and let the young staff take control of the new series. I really want to go on to new things.”
And here is a question he got asked:
Q: You’ve indicated that this will be your last “Metal Gear Solid” game. Are you looking forward to other projects or will you continue to be involved in the series?
A: “MGS will always be around. I feel a responsibility to continue this series as long as users demand it. But it doesn’t mean I’m going to sit in completely. I’ll probably take a different role in the next game. Maybe I’ll sit in as producer and let the young staff take control of the new series. I really want to go on to new things.”

A user on the metalgearsolid.org forusm have posted 2 pictures of the box for Metal Gear Solid 4 and kinda confirms that MGS4 will be ran in full 1080p.
If you look at the back of the box you can clearly see that it says 1080p at the end of the ’supported HD video output’ options.

Yes thats right! Take a look at this screenshot we posted of the iPod in Metal Gear Solid 4. It has been confirmed by a dutch magazine that we will be able to play music from our PS3’s hard drive through the in-game MP3 player known as the iPod.
If you take a look at this forum post you will see a nice list of things in the game.
“Stuff I found interesting (maybe spoilers in here):
- You can play music on the portable mp3 player snake has from the PS3’s hard disc.
- They couldn’t say anything about the story we didn’t know yet (had to sign a paper), but they said that you should get the game already just for the story.
- Through the game, Snake acts like a soldier who welcomes death. He has a ‘death wish’.
- They ended their first playthrough with 300 kills.
- The bossfight against octopus takes place in a South American labratory. She can disguise herself as several objects and figures.
- They discribe Raging Raven as a human bomber who constantly takes away your stragatical advantages by destroying your places to hide.
- Crying Wolf is very fast and has a rail gun that can could shoot snake to a pile of ash really quick.
- Besides the B&B unit, there is also the chance to finally finish of some very hard to defeat enemies from the previous games.
- Cutscenes are amazing, they especially mention the ending epilogue which is (litteraly translated) brainbreaking.
- After the first playthrough, some new goodies and new but extremely expensive parts become available in Drebin’s shop.
- There is again a return of several special gameplay and story aspects from the previous games. They especially occur during the return to Shadow Moses Island.
- Completely original, but not a 100% perfect, is actually only Snake’s mission in an unnamed Eastern Europe country.
- The story goes about a choise between the systematical ‘force to’ (couldn’t find a better word to translate this (opleggen)) order or to keep the free will in every individual citizen or soldier.
- They think MGS4 is a bullseye as a game. GTAIV may have a longer playability, Assassins Creed may have better graphics but on many aspects MGS4 is coming out. The suspens of the story, the perfect controls, the amazing sound directions and of course the emotion, it’s hard to find all this in one game.
- The biggest power of the game is the biggest negative point, if you liked the long, complex story of the previous MGS’s, you will love MGS4. But if you didn’t like it, you won’t like MGS4 purely as an action game (there are better games for that).”
