Timesplitters 4 scan

For those of you who do not remember late last year there was some weird happening. Free Radical the studo responsible for the TimeSplitters Franchise was forced to close, but Crytek appeared from the horizon and swooped them up and transformed them into Crytek UK. Since then they’ve been working on Crysis 2.

Hoping the team would still be working on TimeSplitters 4 Crytek UK’s unofficial blog says they’re working on a FPS which isn’t TimeSplitters 4. The title which is currently in development is original and will have a multiplayer and single-player experience as from the TimeSplitters franchise. Following Karl Hilton words

This could possibly be bad news for the future of TimeSplitters 4 as new ideas are being put forward while TimeSplitters 4 is being left behind

But if people voice their desire for a TS and the demand is there, when the time comes, they’ll be ready for it.

Ubisoft released the date that Far Cry 2 will be available in Europe. It will be expected on October 24th.

John Parkes, Marketing Director of EMEA was comment by saying

Far Cry® 2 is an amazing journey that will take you to the darkest places of Africa where each player will choose how they play. This will provide gamers with an unprecedented experience in the FPS genre

We can expect an entirely non-linear, open-ended experience with gamers able to navigate a sprawling, 50 square km landmass in Africa, featuring terrain from savanna to the jungle and implements of a dynamic weather system, with weather conditions changing depending on how the player is performing at the time.
Noted you will start the game with a new protagonist instead Jack Carver from the original Far Cry

There is also a Collector Edition which will include the following items:

  • Exclusive wooden box
  • Original Far Cry® 2 Game
  • Limited edition Far Cry® 2 t-shirt
  • “The Art of Far Cry® 2” Art book
  • Collector 50km² map
  • Making-of DVD
