Apparently, there will be a lot of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII coverage this weekend as the RE: Replay DVD which contains DKS3713 trailers of both games.8

Not only that, the DVD will contain trailers of Playstation Portable’s Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Agito will be released in Japan on Saturday.

A few more details on PS3 exclusive RPG Final Fantasy Versus XIII have been confirmed.

The full names of both Noctis and Stella have been confirmed to be “Noctis Lucis Caelum”(meaning Light Night Sky), and Stella Nox Fleuret (meaning Star, darkness, latin). During the trailer shown at TGS, a scene in show in which Noctis and Stella discuss a special ability they both posess. This ability is to be able to “see light”. It’s not entirely clear what that’s meant to mean at the moment, but Noctis tries to keep quite about it as Stella speaks of it openly, even asking how he aquired the ability.

The Tokyo Game Show 2008 is underway and information has been revealed regarding the characters in Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Not a great deal, just some names.

FFXIII

Lightning might be voiced by Akeno Watanabe. Nomchan seems to have a name, it’s Sarah or Senon.

FF Versus XIII

The Prince is named Noctis, and the heroine is Stella.

Final Fantasy Verus XIII, the exclusive Final Fantasy game for the Playstation 3 is believed to be more like a traditional Final Fantasy game than Final Fantasy XIII. What this means is that FF Versus XIII will be more like FF7/FF8 where you travel across mountains, ocean and going in dungeons etc.

Obviously the battle system won’t be like a traditional FF game but rather the exploring and story telling will be.

The battle system has changed from turn-based to real-time for Versus and the storyline will follow the traditional style of FF.

At the private Square Enix party three weeks ago (DKΣ3713) the compant announced a tie-up with fashion brand Roen. The unnamed protagonist of Final Fantasy Versus XIII is wearing a suit modelled after a real-life Roen-branded suit.

The scene depicted in this newest trailer highlights what apparently is the first meeting between the protagonist and the heroine.

The chance meeting takes place at a reception commemorating the signing of a treaty about the peaceful use of the Crystal. The protagonist is taking part in the reception as the heir to his country’s throne. Since he doesn’t like crowded places, he decides to look for a place where he can take a breath. One floor above the reception venue, he sees the heroine standing in front of a painting depicting, of all things, the god of death.

No release date has been stated for Versus XIII.

With Final Fantasy XIII going multiplatform, Versus XIII remains a Playstation 3 exclusive. In fact, Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be released worldwide as a PS3 exclusive (announced by square enix at DKΣ371. A trailer was shown at DKΣ3713 and it said ‘Playstation3 only Worldwide’.

Square-Enix has announced at DKΣ3713 that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan suring 2009.

The bundle that will consist of a Playstation 3, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete and of course the Final Fantasy XIII demo will be released sometime in March 2009.

Playstation 3 owners will get to play FFXIII before Xbox 360 owners, the demo is exclusive to the PS3.

DKΣ3713 is underway and announcements have already been made so keep an eye on TalkPlayStation.com for updates.

Square-Enix have confirmed that a Final Fantasy XIII demo will be released with the Advent Children: Complete, the Blu-Ray edition. Along with a demo of FFXIII, Versus XIII and Agito XIII trailers will be included on the disc.

One of finalfantasy-xiii.net’s forum member has found a leaked version of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer shown at Jump Festa 2007. Whats special about this trailer is the fact that it has never been shown or seen in public outside of Square-Enix’s theater.
