Dirt 2 demo arriving todayCodemasters let know yesterday that they are going to release the Dirt 2 demo on the PlayStation Store. Though the date is not solid it seems that today will be the day.
The most exciting, intense, off-road racing game of the year is almost upon us, with the game hitting shop shelves on September 11th. But if, like most of us, you just can’t wait that long to hit the DiRT, then you’ll be pumped to hear that the next-gen console versions of the demo are going to be released this week

Tales of Vesperia for the PlayStation 3 can now be found in demo form on the Japanese PlayStation Store. The demo weighs 282MB and will take you to the Keiv Moc portion of the game with Yuri, Repede, Estellise, Rita and the exclusive title Patty Fleur for the PlayStation 3.
While Tales is Vesperia is set to be released in Japan this summer, we are still waiting on word for North America and Europe.

Finally for those who live in the PAL region and did not make a Japanese account, the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite demo will hit the PlayStation Store on Thursday the 28th.
In the immense popular Capcom title (in Japan), you’ll be able to play three quests before the game gets officially released on June 26th.
Players can adventure with up to three friends to get a taste of the multiplayer social gaming phenomenon that’s taking Japan by storm or choose to go it alone with the aid of a Felyne companion.

A demo after ordering it? Sound familiar? It seems this is the latest trend which many of us don’t like. With this your being forced to either pre-order a game you might not like or purchase a premium service to get it first hand.
Red Faction: Guerilla is the next game to do this. You will be able to access the game between April 3rd and 23th. Though this is a good way to predict how much you sell, it can also be a very dangerous way of predicting your initial shipping units if people eventually drop their order (if possible).
But it’s not that bad, the demo of games like Killzone 2, Resistance 2 and Patapon 2 eventually arrived on the PlayStation Store, after this ‘trick’.
We hope Sony and the publishers stop using this tactic and introduce Limited/Special edition instead.

With the update for the PSP being posted a while ago we now have the remaining list of the Store update. Still no Street Fighter 2 HD but the Lord of the Rings: Conquest demo has finally arrived. Check it out:

Resistance Retribution pre-order demo
If you pre-order Resistance Retribution through Amazon US before January 12th, you will receive a unique code which allows you to download and play an early access demo.
This is good news for all the Resistance fan out there who remember the game would support Resistance 2, similar to what is between the Wii and Nintendo DS. Only here it’s different. Once you hook up your PSP to your PS3, you will be able to play an alternate story through the special ‘Infected Mode’.
Sad news for the people outside North America, you won’t be able to get as it’s restricted to regions where the Amazon US ships to.

Mirror Edge Time Trial available in demoWhile only the tutorial and a small piece of the story were available in the demo (Which you can download from the Playstation store), Dice has now told us of way to try out the Time Trial in the demo.
By entering a 16-digit code in the Play Time Trial menu you are able to unlock this mode to try it out in the demo. This code can be anything but the easiest would be 0000-0000-0000-0000. This mode was first only available to people that pre-ordered their copy at Gamestop but it seems EA and Dice have decided to get the game some more publicity by showing off most of the possible modes in the game.
Most website say this is to help spike more sales to a project that wasn’t as great as EA had hoped.

On the official EU Playstation forum, European SOCOM Producer Shijima announced with a post that Europe can expect access to the SOCOM: Confrontation beta/demo as well.
Okay, this is the news you’ve all been waiting for. I’m happy to confirm that Europe will indeed be getting access to the same Beta trial as our brethren in North America! Furthermore, our trial will begin on the SAME date (1st Sept) and will also end at the same time (30th Sept).
You’ll be pleased to hear that it will be possible to play against not only gamers in Europe, but also those in North America, Oceania and Asia too! Access to this “multiplayer demo” varies by country, so keep your eyes peeled for your unique promotional voucher.
Keep your eyes on that thread for any unexpected changes to this plan. Also send us a shout if you know a place which is selling these promotional voucher.
