The new Batman video game, Arkham AsylumI bet you thought the new Batman game would be called Batman: The Dark Knight? No, according to Game Informer’s August edition:
“This completely original title explores Gotham City’s darkest location, the infamous Arkham Asylum. But as a routine prison transfer goes wrong, the Joker sets his demented plan into action and Batman comes face to face with an army of his worst enemies. In a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock (with a story co-written by Paul Dini), Arkham Asylum is setting the stage for a true-to-character Batman game.”
The August Edition of Game Informer will be available on the 18th of August, with two different covers.
The new Batman game will be released sometime in 2009, and will not follow The Dark Knight movie. According to Paul Dini, the article writer, the game will be on the darker side of The Dark Knight.
The story will start out with Joker surrendering himself and subsequently taking over Arkham because of some secret the facility holds.
The game will be published by Eidos and developed by Rocksteady Studios.

According to a member over on the IGN Boards, he was watching G4 The Dark Knight preview with Kritin Holt interviewing Gary Oldman, who plays Jim Gordon in the movie. Oldman told Kristin that there really is a Dark Knight Game on the way.
“a Dark Knight Game in the works.”
