SIREN: Blood Curse FAQ
TripleChat has posted a good FAQ on Sony’s survival horror, Siren Blood Curse. For those of you still thinking about buying this game off the Playstation Store, this is a good read.
Pricing : Siren: Blood curse is composed of 12 episodes, separated into 3 episode packs, available bundled together in one complete SKU.
* 3 bundles of four episodes are prices at $14.99 per episode pack
* the full SKU is priced at $39.99, approximately $5 cheaper than purchasing 3 episode packs separately
Distribution : Siren: Blood Curse is purely distributed on the PlayStation Network directly from the PlayStation Store. In this section, we will disguss the differing methods of downloading the game from the PlayStation Store.
Note : For the sake of organization, we regard episode packs as “chapters”.
* Full SKU (episodes 1-12) — 8,91 GB
o Chapter 1 (episodes 1-4) — 2.95 GB
o Chapter 2 (episodes 5-8) — 2.79 GB
o Chapter 3 (episodes 9-12) — 3.16 GB
* You are able to download the full SKU at once
* You are able to download each “chapter” individually
* You are able to download each episode individually
Gameplay : Not necessarily a review of the game but quick notes briefly describing the unique nature of this title.
* Gameplay mechanics are completely unlike Resisdent Evil
* SIREN: Blood Curse is NOT a remake of the original SIREN game for PlayStation 2
o SIREN: Blood Curse takes place in the same universe as the previous SIREN games
o The characters and storyline are completely independent of the previous SIREN games
The Shibito seen in the game are not exactly zombies but they are very similar. Shibito is the Japanese word for “living undead”. They reside in the village of Hanuda where they kill humans and convert them into Shibuto as well. The overall mythology of the SIREN series is based off of true Japanese urban legends.
An interesting gameplay device in the SIREN series has been the “Sight Jack” feature where you are able to see through the perspective of another person and even control their actions. In SIREN: Blood Curse, this feature has been refined into a split-screen mode where you can still view the primary player and the player that you are controlling.
Miscellaneous :
* This game is intended for use exclusively with the PLAYSTATION 3 console
* As will previous Blu-ray sized releases on the PlayStation Store, there has been a strict digital rights management (DRM) system in place. For example, both Warhawk and Gran Turismo 5: Prologue have had these strict DRM systems in place. This is NOT the case with SIREN: Blood Curse.
o You may download the game onto 5 different PLAYSTATION 3 consoles using the same PSN account.
