SingStar has sold… quite a lot
Sony Europe has revealed that SingStar as a whole has sold 13million discs across PAL territories and sold around 2million songs via the SingStore. My SingStar functionality has been used by more than 200,000 users and more the 50,000 videos has been uploaded to date.
At the Games Convention 2008 in Leipzig, Sony announced a number of new products for the SingStar franchise. First up is the SingStar Vol. 3 Party Edition that will see Michael Jackson songs for the first time as well as songs from Coldplay and Timbaland.
SingStar Singalong with Disney will bring classic Disney songs to the collection for the Playstation 2, and will include The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book and Aladdin.
SingStore updates would get a boost with the first SingStar Song Packs. The Song Pack system will consist of two, five-song packs from Queen. Song packs will be released every fortnight as well as the standard store update.
This will begin in September.
