Reasons why 2009 > 2008 for PS3
So what has the Playstation 3 got to offer in the year 2009 and how it will be better than 2008. Don’t get me wrong, 2008 has a very strong line up with the following games being released; Socom Confrontation, Wipeout HD, LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm 2 and Resistance 2. It doesn’t stop there, 2009 will be even better!
First of all, Killzone 2 will be released at the beginning of 2009, february, which will make a great start to the year. Again, it doesn’t stop there. InFamous, another great looking game that will be available in Spring 2009. Finally Home will be released after being in Open Beta towards the of this year after a fair few delays.
Although Final Fantasy XIII has been made multi-platform and will appear on the Xbox 360 outside of Japan, but most likely sell better on the PS3 because PS3 has from now until the end of 2009 to catch the 360 up. The series has always been more popular in Japan anyways which is why its staying as a PS3 exclusive.
The one everyone has been waiting for, God of War III. Look how good God of War and God of War II looked on the PS2, breathtaking! God of War III is set to raise the bar even further and demonstrate what the PS3 can really do, just like GOW2 did with the PS2. Sony has said that GOWIII could appear in 2009.
Massive Action Game is believed to be released as early as spring 2009, a game that promises a massive 256 player online battle, another PS3 exclusive that will drop some jaws.
Not really a game but a price cut will almost definitely happen in 2009 if it doesn’t happen in 2008. If a price cut is due this year it will most likely be around xmas time. If a price cut does happen this year i think 2009 will see a price cut later on in the year.
Firmware updates - what will be available in 2009? As you know firmware updates have contributed to the success of Playstation Network and beyond and it can only get better via future firmware updates.
Uncharted 2 will be released in 2009 at some point, i can’t see it being release this year at all. Uncharted Drake’s Fortune is a fantastic game and a sequel would be just brilliant.
Gran Turismo 5. Although recently believed that it may not hit the shelves until 2010 it could still make it out by the end of 2009. GT5 will be the most complete racing game, containing a proper career mode.
Have you heard of Heavy Rain? This game is supposed to be coming out this fall but i think it will slip into 2009.

There’s probably more games to come in 2009 these are just some of the highlights. 2008 isn’t over yet with games such as GTA4, GT5P and MGS4 already out and more to come as suggested at the beginning of this post, 2008 will be very hard to beat… can you think of anymore 2009 games? Will 2009 beat 2008?

Most likely, the titles will be spread out throughout the year of 2009. MAG and GoW III will both probably come out sometime in the fall; my guesses are September 7th, 9th or 12th for MAG (its one of Sony’s most regulated release dates after they’ve delayed a game; they’d never do 4 blockbuster titles in a row) and GoW III will probably come out… say… November 11th (marking the 3rd year of PS3). Its an oddball guess.
But, hey, if I take a swing in the ballpark, I might get a homerun. Who says I’m wrong? Warhawk was supposed to be a July release… it went September 7th (well, that’s when I got it). Whos to say otherwise? I don’t know… nobody?
Why doesnt anyone care about final fantasy Verses XIII!!! Its still a PS3 exclusive and It is telling the other side of the story of FFXIII. Also a lot can happen in the 2 years comming up to the release.
ps3 line next year will be ok. only 2 or 3 games will do great god of war3…rfm2…ok 2…maybe gt5 if come out next year….verses xll who now when there no date for it yet….speaking my mind what if thay port mgs4 to the 360 would be a good thing for 360 i think it will sell good…
first of all i dont really see MGS4 being ported to the 360 it would have to be on like 8 duel layer dvds also MGS4 has a ton of references to Ps3 its ability to not have to switch disk and such so i dont really see it happening in less microsoft would love some ps3 advertising in the game lol just my two cents on your comment ^.^
try 3 disk mybe 4 compress them u have mgs4 on the 360 killzone look ok it might do good but i think rfm2 look better…..
you can’t really compress the CGI that well that is what makes MGS4 such a bulky monster MGS4 was 48GB). Which you can fit onto a blu-ray.
It was one of the reason that Naughty Dog said that Uncharted could not be done on the 360 either 
what if thay are bull shiting everthing because sony come now if u port any game to ps3,360,pc, anything couldhappen…..tell if i am wrong….because i have a ps3,360,pc,wil ok……

so you’re a 360 fan and not a PS3 fan, that’s fine but no need to knock the releases as 2009 will probably be stronger than 2008… and guess what, 2010 will probably be better than 2009. GOD2 came out on the PS2 in year 5 I think, maybe even later.
did u read i have both 360.ps3…so i like both ok but ps3 hold back to much on the games and home sould ben out all ready…that why 360 can out with someing smiller…..killzone2 look ok but rfm2 like better than killzone2 lil big planet garbage to me but could be wrong but i cant what for gow3 now that a killer….

I wouldn’t count on God of War III or M.A.G. releasing in 2009. Those look like 2010 releases to me along with FFXIII which may only make it out in Japan by end of 2009.
Everything else looks set though, Killzone 2, inFAMOUS, Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles, New Insomniac game, and I have a feeling Naughty Dog’s probably working on a new Jak and Daxter.
