PS3 2.50 Firmware Update Now Live
The PS3 Firmware 2.5 Update is now live. To download it, you need to do it manually. Just go to System Settings then select check for update. A few things were renamed in the new update:
The [BD/DVD Settings] option under [Settings] has been renamed as [Video Settings]
Also, multiple video content items can be now played in order. You can edit this option in [Video Settings] -> [Sequential Playback]The [Sign Up for PlayStation Network] and [Account Management] options have been improved. You an now create and manage an account more easily.
Flash 9 has now been added. You can view videos from the PSBlog.com for example.

Downloading now while i post from my Sony PS3.
Same here in my country (not the US) its 0:20 but i’m gonna take some screenshots first!!
Install took a while for the PS3 and download took a while for the PSP.
Seems after the install on the PS3 the database gets updated as well.
after i downloaded 2.50 for my ps3, when i start the ps3 up it doesnt load up the menue, it has the loading symbol in the conor going and i ccan still turn it off via the controller i dont know wnat the matter is?
You might want to try and turn the console off via switch in the back. Then power it back on. If that doesn’t work, contact Sony Support.
Actually this time again sony’ve just screwed up things by releasing the FW 2.50.
1. MP4 files(hd 720p or 1080p) no longer have proper playback as before which was crystal clear with 2.42 FW.
2. U wud be surprised that a great number of your divx files wud play in Black and white moved to top portion of ur screen.
Most of u mite sit around there and feel happy about the update as it has added screen grabbing option and divx Vod registration option. Other fans wud be disappointed by the playback issue .
My plan…keep my ps3 covered from dust until next FW release with a fix. No plans for any modchip restoration thru infectus. Waiting to get hands on cod:world at war, nfs undercover, POP and RE5.
