Motostorm Pacific Rift is the sequel to Motostorm, probably the best game that was available around the launch of the PS3 (apart from Resistance). Buttonmasher has bee speaking with the Executive Producer from Evolution Studios, Paul Hollywood and asked a few questions.

One thing that caught our eye was the fact that the game maintains a framerate of 30. It doesn’t stop there, Motorstorm Pacific Rift will maintain a framerate of 30 in two, three or four player modes, you will always get the same framerate no matter what.

The main thing for me is maintaining the framerate. The 30 Hz experience is a necessity to make sure you have the right tactile feel. with one two three or four players, you will always get that frame rate. What we have had to do is remove some of the nicer visual effects, I hope that people will accept that you’ll have to loose a few things to get 4 players on the same screen.

Losing a few things is acceptable because framerate is important.
