Limited USB connectivity in new 80GB PS3

The new 80GB Playstation 3 model, announced at E3 is believd to have limited USB connectivity and no backwards compatibility with Playstation 2 games.

The 80GB will come with the same feature set as the pared down model. So limited USB connectivity and no backwards compatibility with PS2 games.

This means that there will be no USB ports at the back of the PS3 for those user who wanted to connect the PlayTV and did not want it sticking out at the front.

Were there ever USB ports on the back of the PS3? Only in the pre-launch models as far as I was aware. Those had 4 on the front and 2 on the back, as well as 2 HDMI ports.

But all the models sold to the public only ever had 4 USB on the front, none on the back, and 1 HDMI port.
