Interesting bit about Home at TGS
With some information related to the Playstation Home beta for Japan, there was some interesting info in SCEJ’s press release.
You already know from us that the Japanese version of Home recently got 24 third party developers and publisher on board to make there own area’s and/or more.
Well it seems that there will be a large-scale closed beta test between late October and early November. This is to prepare for the Open Beta Service which release date will be announced on the official Home website.
The most important bit is that you’ll be able to obtain special items usable within Playstation Home depending on the level of your gameplay.
So does this mean that when you have played a game a lot and gathered enough trophies you will for example be able to walk around in a generals outfit (Warhawk related) or have a golden golfstick in your hands (Hot Shot Golf 5 related). We don’t know but it is getting more and more interesting in what Sony has planned for Home.
Despite the game being originally developed by SCEE it seem SCEJ has taken the foreground to announce most information and many of the features we can expect.
There was no word on Europe and North America getting a similar ’stress test’.

I agree completely, if these rewards were trophy based it would definitely give gamers another incentive to complete those games games and get all the trophies, i know i would.
I know that developers had plans on making some shirts, and other content if you had purchased and played their games, for use within Home.
Japan had taken the helm within their servers by having questionnaires placed around the area, and if you answered them three times, you would get a shirt to wear around Home.
Last thing I heard was they have plans to extend the close phase/open phase within late October early November.

If this were to use trophies, then Sony would be able to combine two of their features together nicely.
Gives more depth to trophy and more fun to HOME.

They plan on the ability for the users to show some of their favorite trophies in the from of a Hall of Fame you can say. But the room hasn’t been implemented yet in the Closed Beta group.
