Heavy Rain Tech Demo vs Gameplay comparison
Many people are slightly dissapointed in Heavy Rain and we’ve heard people say that the visuals have took a downgrade since the tech demo that was shown all the way back at E3 2006. We’ve finally seen some actual gameplay footage of the game, shown at the Leipzig Games Convention 2008 just a few days ago.
Many people thought the tech demo at E306 was just a rendered feel of how the game could look.
We’ve put together a screenshot comparison for you to take a look at.
If you enlarge the image above you’ll see that the tech demo is almost identical to the actual gameplay visuals. In fact, some of the gameplay visuals look slightly better than the tech demo especially the colouring.

The gameplay video looks better visually.
Gameplay hands down.
I’d say gameplay looks better without a doubt.
lol gameplay? i didnt know that cut-scenes and scripted gameplay was ”gameplay” show me a screenshot with HUD and camera angle that looks like real gameplay..but wait this is a sony fanboys website,where opinions and nonesenses = FACTS

dude, the game demo didn;t have a HUD. and if you watch the video of the gameplay, you can see the action icons on the screen as tje lady walks around. it’s all in real-time. and you’re a 360 fanboy judging by your comment, so troll somewhere else.
So… you want it to be a FPS or TPS basically, is taht it LolZORS?
Lulz even RE4 Has that and is scripted not even gameplay and when i see HUD and a camera angle that looks like gameplay comeback to me.
@ Matt uncharted is an adventure game and has a HUD,it doesnt need to be FPS or TPS to use a HUD.FAIL
In most games they are trying to eliminate the HUD all together so most of these arguments are just lame.

stop making a fool of yourself and trying to prove how much of a 360 fanboy you are here. ppl ever commented the most brainless gamers on earth are fanboys. but you just proven that 360 fanboys are worst than just stupid. the latest demo video shown is in game whether is accept it or not. not all games must come with HUD. it all depends on the designer and not for you to decide how they should be. uncharted is an adventure game yes, but its still a TPS while Heavy Rain is not. get a grip or go troll else where. thank you.
Who cares if this game looks better anyway? It’s not gonna be game of the year or fall under any catagory other then graphics anywho. The video was not as impressive as ppl spoke about it on b4 I viewed it. And what’s this about 360 fanboy being wrost than stupid? How do u know he’s a 360 fanboy? OK none of that is gameplay, all CGI. Why does everyone buy this crap? Sony keeps doing this and people just eat it up, fool me once shame on you… well you know the rest.

Also, every game is technically “CGI”, as the imagery is generated by a computer.

You’d think these people would have learned their lesson, given the Ostrich-sized egg on the faces of those who said Killzone 2 would never look like the 2005 E3 trailer. Ho hum!
@ Master CHEIF, learn to spell correctly before commenting. And yes, Heavy Rain has far better graphics that Halo 3, the failure.

Sure did! If anything, the actual game looks better than the original trailer. Better colours, better definition… better make that TWO Ostrich-sized eggs!
If these pictures are the basis of the “agrument”, then there is no argument. The gameplay pictures are without a doubt MUCH MUCH BETTER than the Tech Demo pics.
