I bought this on Friday it took me almost 30 minutes to install then update. Is it just me or can you not upgrade your cars (wheels, fly wheel, crank shaft) or is this intended for the full release?

  • You can’t upgrade your cars in Prologue, but you will be able to in the full version, don’t worry about that, Prologue is just a snippet of the full version.

There will be a full career mode as seen on the previous Gran Turismo’s where you start low and build your way up the ladder.

  • Steve says:

Does this mean that you wont be able to transfer the cars across to GT5?

  • The developers are definitely planning on transferring progress and hard work in Prologue to the full game, GT5. What we don’t know is if it’s cars, save file, credits etc.

  • patrick says:

hi may i know where can i download the update for the gt5 spec 2 update… I just bought my ps3 today..

  • There is nowhere to download it manually, what you have to do is load GT5 Prologue up, and simply click Online at the main menu. This will check for any updates and will download the latest update.

  • pedz221 says:

Mine doesnt even download always says “error downloading” whats wrong anyone?

  • pedsz221, try and delete the GT5 game data, then reinstall GT5, then try to download the update. It also depends what NAT type you have. Any below NAT type 2 is good. With NAT type 3 you will have problems. Are you on wireless? If so try wired connection.

  • pedz221 says:

i got a wired connection and i got it on buray and i wud delete the save data but ive now completed it and really cant be bothered to redo it all and what is NAT?

  • pedz221 says:

just found out what NAT is and i got type 2

  • bash247 says:

Hi. im alway so having trouble downloading the update. iv delete the old file an reinstalling but it alway stops at the same place of downloading

im not sure how 2 tell what NAT type iv got if it is that?

  • bash247 says:

how long would you say it might take download? iv got 8mb speed so would it still take hours.

  • bash247, It depends how busy PSN is, if a lot of people are downloading then it will take longer. Try downloading at night to see if things improve. You can check your NAT type in the network settings on PS3, all you do is test the internet connection and it will bring up your NAT type.

  • wilddude says:

i have tried downloading the update about 20 times now, still i get error downloading! have tried wireless and wired connecton, got nat type2. have deleted my saved games. still dont work. what can be the broblem?? starting to be pretty pissed of

  • greg says:

i am getting really pissed off as i was so close to my f1 car and now i cant play online!

  • Danny Doritoes says:

Alrite lads, my broadband speed is 2mbps & the download took bl00dy ages… Had about 30 failed attempts. I was watching Blues (Cardiff pinks) V Ulster while I waited. One other try after the game and it did it. Took about 3 seconds to go from zero to full. Other times it took 40mins to get 2/3 of the way and tell me error.

My advice to people with downloading problems: Just keep going. Un;ess you’ve get connection problems, just try, try, and try again till it works.
I don’t think it’s woth the wait, but it’s the only way th get online play.

  • Navigo says:

it’s so f……ng stuck ive tried so many times but if u say i need to try more ill do it

  • Fitty says:

Hey guys, I just found a site where they said this:

On your PS3 go into Network Settings and DISABLE the media settings.

I’m doing it right now so haven’t tested but apparently this works (and not only for this game but for others when having trouble updating).

  • zaid waleed says:

hi can you give me the update on the computer (because i always try and everytime download error) please try

  • theDOG says:

The “Disable Media Settings” on the network settings worked for me great! try it out guys! Happy Online Gaming

  • Roslin74 says:

Keep trying guys. Everytime u restart the dowanlod goes faster

  • Luc says:

This is annoying, why are we meant to take this, many games and publisher’s of lesser quality and funding get it right, I have been downloading and upgrading games like no tomorrow, until this one, error, damn even Wii gives you an error code to give you an idea what’s up, My mate talked me into this version as I was holding off for full, but this is going straight to the bin, Yes this mob needs alot of our money to help release this game, that’s the major reason for prologues, but release the damn game, playstation and games are sucking us in with uncomplete games and then charging us for add ons, so do that! Anything else you need to do add it to a upgrade download, oh wait, they don’t Fn work for half the people. Worst PS3 purchase yet!
