Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has been speaking to gamasutra.com about next year, what games to expect. There could be more Dead Space sequels in the works as John said:

Dead Space looks like a long-term big winner for us…

Does this mean that Dead Space did well and that they are thinking of making this into a big franchise? Could well be!

Don’t get me wrong – I thoroughly enjoyed Dead Space – but I hope EA don’t turn it into another perpetual franchise like FIFA, Madden, NHL, NFS and the like.

As good as it was, there’s only so much you can do in the Dead Space universe before it becomes repetitive, and you’re just milking consumers for £40 every year for what is essentially the same game.

Agree, the “carrie” style ending didn’t gave me the idea that it can go on, maybe more gore games with the same engine but no more Dead Space, there is already a Movie and comics, some games deserve to stay unique, take a lesson from Team ICO, Shadow of the Colossus was a excellent game but no one asked for SotC 2 we just want more games from that team doesn’t matter what it’s about.
