Star Ocean 4 is not an Xbox 360 exclusive but rather a timed exclusive. It will eventually come out for the Playstation 3. Take a look at the following from the latest Square Enix press release:
INFINITE UNDISCOVERY (Xbox 360 Exclusive)
Genre: RPG
PAL Release Date: September 5, 2008Infinite Undiscovery is the newest fantasy role-playing console game from Square Enix, drawing gamers into a real-time world woven of countless threads where player choices spin untold discoveries. Players will be confronted with a variety of dramatic situational battles such as executing a daring escape while a gigantic ogre follows in hot pursuit, or waging battle amidst towering tidal waves. Dynamic environments change and respond in real time, creating an entirely new experience never before seen in the genre. The title is scheduled to release exclusively on Xbox 360 in September 2008.
STAR OCEAN: THE LAST HOPE
Genre: RPG
Release Date: 2009Star Ocean: The Last Hope is the long-awaited continuation of the celebrated science fiction and fantasy RPG series. Slated for release on Xbox 360 in 2009 and published by Square Enix, this prequel set during the aftermath of World War III combines sci-fi and fantasy elements spanning multiple planets and the vastness of space itself to recount the origins of the Star Ocean universe. Exhilarating combat expands upon the franchise’s famous real-time battle system, introducing the amazing graphics and visual effects only possible on Xbox 360.
As you can see it says “INFINITE UNDISCOVERY (Xbox 360 Exclusive)”, it doesn’t say ‘Xbox 360 Exclusive’ for Star Ocean.
Whats with this: “amazing graphics and visual effects only possible on Xbox 360“, Yeah right.
It just hasn’t been announce for the Playstation 3…yet.

We could be hearing an announcement from Doom creator, ID Software because they have updated their job page and looking for people to work on a new project. With E3 around the corner we are almost certain to see their new game or at least have some info on it.
ID Software are looking for a lot of programmers, designers, animators etc.

Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager has said that the Playstation.com team are working on a lot of things but hasnt seen the final spec.
“The ps.com team is working on a lot of stuff, but I haven’t seen the final feature list.”
Speaking with a blogger from X-Intelligent Krew, Jeff was asked if he could provide the API’s for Trophies and Levels so they can integrate it into TripleTags.com etc.
Here’s what was said:
(and no i don’t use a mac, that shot was from the author of x-intelligent krew)
My opinion is that Playstation.com is working on revamping its site and making it similar to xbox.com where you can view you stats etc online.

The latest rumors are saying that Kratos will not be appearing in Soul Calibur IV. Kratos was suggested to be featured in Namco Bandai’s fighting game a few weeks back but if the latest rumors are true a lot of God of War fans will be left slightly upset.
“Afterall, Soul Calibur II featured exclusive characters such as Link on the GameCube version and Heihachi on the PS2 version. However, 1up.com smashed these rumors in their latest podcast, confirming that Kratos is absent from the game.”

After many reports saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 is the last in the series. Fear not, Hideo Kojima himself has stated that he has got to think about Metal Gear Solid 5.
Kojima said:
“I gotta start thinking about MGS5… Even though, well, Snake’s story ends in MGS4. …About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think.”
Previous statements from Ryan Payton suggested that there will be a MGS5 but not with Solid Snake as Snake’s story ends in MGS4.
My opinion is that yes there will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 but Solid Snake won’t be in the game. Raiden anyone?

70% of Playstation 3 games that are already released will be compatible with Sony’s answer to Xbox Live’s Achievement system, Trophies.
The July issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK states that:
“PlayStation 3 achievements – called ‘trophies’ – will be unveiled soon (this bit we already know, but here’s the interesting bit), and 70% of games will already be compatible.”
This could be true because apparently it only takes developers half a days work to implement the trophy system into their games.
What games do you hope that will support Trohpies?
Grand Theft Auto IV
Uncharted Drakes Fortune
Metal Gear Solid 4

Jenova in Final Fantasy XIII?The latest rumors regarding Final Fantasy XIII is that Jenova could return. According to finalfantasyseries.net they think this image could indicate the return.
Looks very similar to this shot from Final Fantasy VII.
“So far some Final Fantasy fans rubbish the claims saying its “too big” a link between VII and XIII. And in their own words; “that’s if its not a super secret remake of Final Fantasy VII”, which is even more outrageous. Isn’t it?..”
Our opinion is that its just another lifeform and has no link what so ever to Final Fantasy VII.

[UPDATE] Looks like this news is a total FAKE. Thanks to our friends at TheSixthAxis for pointing this out.
Sony have issued a press release regarding a new addition to the Playstation Network called Playstation Edge.
“PlayStation EDGE looks to improve the connection between gamers and spur exciting contests whereby players will be rewarded in game for accomplishing tasks, and also translate it into the real world in the form of free rewards. Rewards will vary from limited items to discounts or bonuses on the PlayStation Store.”
Full press release, click through.

According to ps3hyper, the Playstation 3 is to get its own ‘Tales of’ game. Based on this picture from a Japanese magazine:
This new Tales of game is supposed to take advantage of the PS3’s power. This larger scan shows Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk, Tales of Vesperia and a mysterious upcoming PS3 Tales of game.
The Playstation 3 needs more RPG’s and if this rumor is true then its all good news for PS3 RPG fans. Expect something at E3.

If you missed the screenshots of the trophy screen, head over to the post and check it out. Meanwhile PS3Fanboy has its hands on some more unconfirmed screenshots of the gamer card or gamer profile.
“Our sources have got back to us with a couple more images today. These images show off the third page of the user profiles (seen above) which contain some basic information on the player.”
The above image is just basically the same profiles we see now but it looks as though it has been skinned up. The same About me and My languages are still here, nothing new though, just a new look.
The second image is what it looks like when your viewing someone else gamer profile or gamer card.
Remember these are unconfirmed shots. They are probably real and we’ll find out on the 30th when Firmware 2.4 is released.

Playstation Phone in the making? It appears that a Playstation branded mobile phone is in production. According to Sony insiders the company is working on a Playstation Phone and will incorporate elements of the Playstation Portable.
“It is understood the phone could hit the shelves in time for Christmas 2009.”
No details, specs and looks have been revealed yet and i don’t think we’ll see something for quite sometime.
Hmmmm i wonder what it will look like.

According to this Neogaf forum post, Kratos is believed to be the next characters to be exlusive to the Playstation 3 version of the game.
Its from the rumor section of EGM, August 2008 issue.
“God of Soul. Kratos to be revealed as next Soulcalibur IV(PS3) character.”
Meanwhile PSU have been in touch with Namco Bandai to try and dig up this rumor and a Namco Bandai representative responded with:
“We don’t comment on rumors or speculations,”
They didn’t deny the rumor nor confirm it but i’m guessing the rumor is true.

The next Warhawk patch/update version 1.4 is said to include two new game modes. A Playstation.com forum (thread now deleted) user called Gnob posted a screenshot of Home’s updated game-launching interface and the ‘play’ list option allows for the original modes, but now includes two new game modes called Hero mode and Collection mode.
No one knows what the objectives of these new game modes are but they sound pretty fun.

Picture of the Trophy screen? While have a look on PS3FanBoy i ran into what looks like the trophy screen that will be included in the next firmware update, 2.4.
Ok, so is this real or not? Apparrently its real according to a tipster called ‘The Patriots’ who emailed the above picture. Not only that but another tipster called ‘Gassy Snake’ emailed the following picture in:
What your looking at is the Playstation 3’s gamer card.
“Gassy Snake also tells us that each trophy type will be worth a different number of points, so there are limits to how many of each trophy are in a single game. In order to progress through levels you will need to gain a certain number of trophy points. This number will increase with each level, making it more difficult to reach higher levels.”
At the moment this is just a rumor until someone officially confirms that the above pictures are legit.

The team behind Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are rumoured to be making a new sci-fi title.
Speaking with TalkPlayStation.com an insider said “we are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3″.
So what sort of sci-fi game will this be? Most likely a first person shooter, maybe its something that will rival Halo.
Infinity Ward are famous for developing Call of Duty 4, they have no part in Call of Duty 5 as Treyarch are in control of it.
