Sony is really working on getting the most of their online service. Rumours have now spread that US radio gigant Sirius Satellite might strike a deal with SCEA for the PlayStation Network.
An insider at Blu-ray.com’s forums claims he has seen the plans for a $2.49 a month subscription plan from Sirius XM.
It’s not quite clear as to whether or not this will be streamed via a new widget on the PlayStation 3, similar to the news feed up top, or if users may have to go into their browsers to use the service through internet radio. If it’s the latter, it will probably limit the number of potential subscribers to the service.
We shouldn’t take this all to serious as Sirius XM (Satellite) may file for bankruptcy.

Ninja Gaiden II coming to PS3?
As of this moment the game is currently half done, since Yosuke Hayashi of the first Ninja Gaiden game took over again. Under the name Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the game be available on the PlayStation 3.
Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 will be a remake of the previous exclusive 360 title ‘Ninaj Gaiden II, which the departed (and 360 preferring) director Tomonobu Itagaki was in charge of.
The game will have PSN support and new content. No news on trophies yet. Look out for a possibility of Ayane being playable.

It isn’t an official statement from Pandemic but from an employee of Rebellion who talked to Darkzero.
After some trouble with the game in development trouble arouse for Free Radical who was working on the title. During the holidays it was everywhere how Free Radical was in trouble and it would close it’s studio. Luckily that stories has had an happy ending thanks to Crytek. Pre-rendered footage hit the web and the game got a sort of hype.
With experiences of making the game Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, many looked forward to what we could expect from Rebellion who took over the game. But it seems development of Aliens vs. Predator 3 has taken higher priority then Star Wars Battlefront 3. So The game returned to it’s creator Pandemic.
Since the game left Pandemic, they released Mercenaries 2 and Lord of the Rings: Conquest both not the quality games we were used to from them. Lord of the Rings: Conquest was even labelled ‘Battlefront in Middle Earth’. My impression, nothing near it. Not only did the graphics look poor in my opinion, the controllers and enemies all lacked. So by having back their mojo we hope Pandemic will return to it’s ‘former’ glory days and bring Star Wars Battlefront to another level.

I’m not 100% sure about this, but since last week I’ve noticed you can finally search on alphabet in the European PlayStation Store. So either this ‘update’ has gone fairly unnoticed or I didn’t pick up this new feature.
in the North American PlayStation Store you were able to search on alphabet since the revamp in April, but the European Store was left behind for some reason and pleas were not answered.
While the European Store had a search option, you were only able to search on genre rather then on alphabet. Now you can search on console (PS3) or handheld (PSP) first and then on letter.
Here are some pictures from the (Dutch) PlayStation Store.

So can somebody confirm that this feature was not available until a week or two ago.

LittleBigPlanetoid posted a ‘massive rumour’.
In an episode of EP Daily on G4Tech TV YouTube video uploading is hinted at coming to LittleBigPlanet.
When the Youtube APi integration was first mentioned on Youtube’s blog, many were looking forward to what would be possible and which games would support it. So far PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Monsters and Noby Noby Boy support it along with a few Japanese only titles.
We wonder what for possibilities this will bring and what it will hold for LittleBigPlanet.

June 3rd A Possible release Date For F.W 2.7
To start off this post I’m not saying that 2.7 is definitely coming on June 3rd, I just heard that it might be coming on the third of June. Over on PSU forums the 2.7 update for the ps3 which was released by was officially killed. Someone at the official PS boards confirmed that it was a fake. They said that the author who wrote this used to always previously complain about recent firmware update and then decided to throw together this list in hopes of starting this huge rumour such that Sony would respond and deny or confirm them.
Last year at the Sony conference Jack Tretton announced that the Video Store would launch that night. And it did but it was zip coded so no one else outside America could access the store to download any movies. Which by the way Sony said us Europeans would get the video store within 6 months. It has been 8 months and still no word of a video store hitting our PlayStation stores. Everyone knows by now that E3 is starting on June 2nd this year so Sony could launch the firmware that night. Here are some features that might come with the update.Voice Messages, Revamped proiles and maybe cross game invites. I’m not going to go in to a lot of detail about it like the Neobara did over in the Gamerailers forums. E3 is only a few months away so we will just have to wait and see what Sony has in store for us.

SCEE stops with Go!MessengerSince the post has been removed we thought we’d post this under rumors.
As VG247 reported, an SCEE staffer said on the European PlayStation forum that Sony would discontinue with the Go! service on the PlayStation Portable from 31 March 2009.
Go! is a communication service by BT and SCEE which didn’t live up to the numbers they wanted
Although it proved a popular concept, achieving a significant number of registrations, it didn’t gain the number of regular users that BT and SCEE were aiming for
One reader of VG247 commented by saying
…so it was a good idea, VERY poorly executed
And we agree, Sony has some bright idea’s from their hardware, but it seems they don’t know how to bring it to the public in a right way.

A source of VG247 let know that the possible upcoming PSP-4000 will include a sliding screen. The picture you see below had hit the web a while ago and many hoped this would be the future look of the PSP.

Eurogamer let known late last year that the new version might be coming in the winter of 2009. This isn’t the PSP2 but more a revamp of the PSP based on the existing PSP tech.
VG247 believes that an announcement will arrive either at GDC or E3.

Guerilla Games already working on killzone 3?A user over on the GameTrailers forums has been reading Power Unlimited (dutch magazine) they were talking about the future of the Killzone frachise. According to the magazine, Guerilla Games mentioned they are already working on Killzone 3.
Not only that but GG said they are also working on Killzone Liberation 2 and plan to release it in 2010.
Below is a scan of the article.
It will be hard to read, but there it is.
There has always been some uncertainty about the numbering of the killzone games. Back when the first trailer of killzone 2 was shown, some people were calling it killzone 3 because the project name for killzone: liberation for the psp was killzone 2. But we think it’s quite clear that killzone: liberation on the psp is a stand alone game.
There are still some killzone games coming. The devs told the newspaper “de volkskrant” that they ar already working on killzone 3. It’s not a big suprise, but it’s nice to know. We’ve also heard that killzone: liberation 2 is being worked on and will come out in 2010. Then there’s the question what the third GG team is working on…
How could they not continue Killzone if pre-order levels are more than 1.1 million in the UK and USA?

No word on a release date but it could be this year.

Rumor: FW 2.7 DetailedAccording to a post made in the GT forums, someone got the rundown of the details that will be contained in firmware 2.7. Just keep it labeled as rumor though, since Sony hasn’t made any announcements internally.
“Okay, GT, i lurk these boards a lot so i’m going to throw you a bone. Take it or leave it. Anyway, A friend of mine works in an R&D department at Sony and recently let me in on the firmware details for 2.7. If you were disappointed with 2.6, you’ll probably like what you’re about to hear, but it’s still missing some very crucial (and heavily requested) features. Here’s a list of the things he told me will be changed:
Friends List:
- Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds.
- Home Integration: Saved Playstation Home avatar photos can be selected as photo ID for Gamer Card/Friends List.
- Trophy number and Gamer Level are listed under Friend names for quick reference.Gamer Card & Trophies:
- Gamer Card layout has been changed to more closely resemble the Playstation Store aesthetic.
- Past Trophy information can be viewed in detail by selecting “Recent Trophy History” option.
- Newly aquired trophies auto-sync in the background
- Server infrastructure for Trophies has been optimized. Resulting in faster retrieval time for Gamer Card and Trophy information.In-Game XMB:
- Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seemless in-game experience.
- “Theme settings” options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.
- Internet Browser can now be accessed while in-game.
- Voice messaging and voice chat options can be used while in-game.
- Options that cannot be used in the XMB during game sessions are grayed out (but still selectable) to eliminate user accessibility confusion.Misc:
- Other slight UI tweaks and enhancements.

Further details about Killzone 2 DLCEarlier this week PSFocus have managed to grab some information regarding the situation with Killzone 2 downloadable content. The DLC is apparently going to be available after the game has launched (next week). An anonymous has reported saying that they have information about this DLC.
- Not all DLC for Killzone 2, free. There are paid and free DLC’s planted.
- The DLC is in the form of: Maps, Extra Game Modes, etc…
- Guerrilla is currently working on an ingame store as in Metal Gear Solid 4. Here you can earn points by clothes and buy upgrades for your character.
- Retro Maps come to Killzone 2 via DLC (ie maps from Killzone 1)
We hope this is true, we’re flagging this up as a big fat rumour though.

New mode coming to Resident Evil 5A new mode will be making its way to Resident Evil 5. In the March issue of the Official Playstation Magazine US, there is a review for the horror title and somewhere in the review they mention some downloadable content, here’s what it says.
The fun doesn’t end when you complete RE5’s main story-line,
We’re sworn to secrecy, but we’ve had a peek at an unlockable mode for forthcoming DLC, and it’s awesome.
No word on what exactly is unlocked but we’re guessing it could be new weapons, costumes and possibly a new difficulty.
I guess we will all find out when we complete the game after Friday 13 of March 2009.
