playstation home logo3
If you would ask the PlayStation community about Home, the majority would deem it a failure. Why? Well the service seems to be a ghost of what was shown at the GDC 07. Many feature have (still) not been implemented. And the SCEE covered region of Home is lacking content (game spaces) compared to it’s US and Japanese counterpart. But same can be said vice versa of what they lack and the SCEE region has.

Though Locust_Star and CydoniaX claim that the future looks bright, we had heard similar things in December 2008 from TedTheDog.
PlayStation LifeStyle gather some of the quotes the two managers posted:

Locust_Star

I want to see everything that was promised in the early demo’s of Home delivered – specifically, media streaming objects, trophy integration, user generated content, and game launching being supported by all the new titles (and patched for the classic titles we all know and love). I feel like we’re on track to do all this and more

We’re under a lot of pressure. But we can deal with it. This is an incredible group of people we have here – geniuses, across the board. I firmly believe that. I have the utmost confidence that Home will become exactly what it was meant to be, exactly what it was promised to be, and will enable the PS3 to bury the competition. Given that, I sleep very well at night

CydoniaX

Yes. I know that Home is not going to fail. I know that it will be what you all want it to be. I have empirical proof of that. Unfortunately, I just can’t share it all right now, but it will be shared. There are big announcements coming in the next few months

Absolutely, yes. These next few updates look pretty significant, and I anticipate everything to continue to ramp up. We’re gaining momentum. By no means is the Home of today the Home of tomorrow. One day, you will have more content than you will know what to do with. You just gotta hang in there with us

I see Home a year from now bearing almost no resemblance to the Home of today. This is a baby that’s just starting to crawl right now. It’ll be a varsity basketball player with mad dunking skills a year from now

I don’t have to ask. They get it. We’ve hammered it into their brains. They take this very, very seriously. As said, be prepared for some pretty major announcements in the not-so-distant future

So you still believe?

Because ghosts can go through solid objects.

That us what said Garrett Moehring in an interview with MTV Multiplayer during a demo session of the game.

It would really kind of break the fiction that the Ghostbusters world sets up. If you went with a cover mechanic, it would make it much too similar to a real type of shooter out there. So we added the other things that would make sense. Like running really fast, having a sprint that’s really accessible because they’re going all over the place, and dodge mechanics because [enemies] have a lot of ranged attacks

Sounds more then logical to me.

untitled1 Gamers Lust Is stronger Than We Thought

By now you are wondering why is there a post with Lara Croft naked with black paint covering her parts. Well I have a damn good reason. I have been roaming the Internet coming across posts such as ‘Top 10 Sexiest Female Characters In Gaming History’ and Sheeva’s sexy costume . I saw both of these on N4G and  both of them was on the front page with a numerous amount of comments and close to or above 1000 degrees. This cant possibly count as ‘Gaming News’  or anything of particular gaming interest such as a opinion, review and so on. I feel posts are written like this just to get their site achknowledged but it actually works.

They know that some gamers only play games for a sense of sexuality in it, so they know that they will visit their site to view the images of the half naked characters. . I know men thrive for female sexuality but not in that kind of way that depicts our favourite gaming heroines as digital porn stars. If you are going to put up some sexy pictures, make sure they are real people with real breasts. I like women who actually exist, not women out of a video game.

If you decide to adventure down this path please keep it to yourselves as us real men like to look at and enjoy pictures of real women instead of photoshopped of female gaming icons.

    blu-ray logo
MCV reports that Blu-ray is reaching the 100 million disc mile, thus changing it from a “early adopters” status to “early majority”.

Futuresource Consulting claims that this year, Blu-ray discs will pass the 100 million mark. They also claim that the increased number of HDTV’s is helping repel the negative market effects of the economic recession for the format.

Last year in the US alone, Blu-ray video retail sales increased by a whopping 320 per cent to 24 million units. We’re going to see momentum continuing in 2009, with over 80 million disc sales forecast. In the USA, Blu-ray has moved from early adopter phase through to early majority, with the format gaining real traction in the marketplace

The UK is the largest market for Blu-ray discs in Western Europe. With sales of more than 3.5 million units in 2008, it represented over 40 per cent of the West European total

With this quote we can’t be sure that it’s really true. Since the Pound dropped against the Euro many people on the European ‘mainland’ have been ordering from UK online retailers. Also the price of what the Blu-ray discs cost at first have dropped (heavily) to more acceptable prices, which we know from DVD titles.

Blu-ray disc sales continue to expand into all major markets and genres. Although to date the business has gravitated towards new release titles. In particular, the action adventure genre dominates, appealing strongly to the young male technology adopter, which also closely matches the PlayStation 3 owner profile

It’s good to see that Blu-ray is slowly turning into a successful format even though it took some time and many doubted it potential.

As I was playing Street Fighter 4 the other day which by the way is quite boring and slow. I told myself that If i didn’t like the arcade mode I would attempt to try the online. As I joined a match, I was up against someone who has never played the online part before. As the first round started I was winning but then he cornered me and kept pressing the square button on me. He kept punching me until I was dead. He did this for the 2 rounds. As I quit the match I just threw my control away and left the room with what dignity I had left. It also reminded me about the video you are about to see. Is this truly what games has reduced us to do. Get angry and break the first thing we see. I’m not going to say ‘Enjoy The Video’ but i am going to say I feel the pain all these people are going through.

The peopel that were present at the press event were shown nearly 20 minutes of gameplay footage. Followed by an interview with a few interesting answers.

Asked if this was the final God of War, Stig Asmussen, Game Director for God of War III replied by saying

I don’t know about the future of God of War, I’m just focused on God of War III

Another interesting answer was that the game would not have loading times but would be “a streaming game”

war zone 2 journalist cartoon The Apocalypse of Gaming Journalism

I am going to put an end to to all this hatred towards HipHopGamer, he is just another individual writing for a site that he made. But some people don’t seem to see it that way. They see him as a typical PS3 fanboy but what I don’t get is that just because Planetxbox360 wrote that ridiculous article many other sites started to agree and disagree. When I started writing my previous post  on this topic I didn’t write it for traffic or to look good which a lot of people are saying that’s why I did it. I did it because I believed that Planetxbox360 took it too far by posting it on N4G. They could of contacted him personally and sorted out some kind of agreement, but no they wanted to call him out and make him look like a jerk.

I was looking through the comments on N4G and I was surprised by a lot of people are just judging him on his skin colour. Not only that but they’re are also using the N word, just cause he isn’t the same skin colour as you  he isn’t in to games like the rest of us. Shame on them people. HipHopGamer is just letting evertone know the truth about the gaming industry . Other comments suggested that the site is a waste of time and he is always has boring shows and his spelling errors are constantly happening , so what if he spelt a word wrong what are all of you going to do. Spam the site over a silly mistake. We all make mistakes, no one can be perfect. If I was riting a artikle nd i made a mistak wat wil happen, will i be fireed or misjugd 4 the rest of my life (By they way I was being sarcastic)

My thoughts are that Planetxbox360 just eventually got jealous of the HipHopGamers site and suddenly tried to tear it apart piece by piece, but as you already know some people don’t aggree with him and they are damn right. HipHopGamer is a cool guy. I enjoy watching his show every week andI cant wait to see his show tonight. I would STRONGLY recommend watching it tonight, i’m sure he has a lot in store for us.

What I don’t get is that just because someone from Planetxbox360 writes a post about how bad HipHopGamer is and then people start writing posts that agree with him and not to mention all the comments I have a read also agreeing with him. Now they are using this discussion to get some views on their site, ridiculous. They obviously don’t care about the his site. I know that this war between HipHopGamer and Planetxbox360 isn’t actually gaming news so I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I hope that the feud will end soon and we can all get back to proper news like new release dates, new screenshots and new games. Whatever happens in the end I am backing up the HipHopGamer all the way.

headercopyfp5 Why HipHopGamerShow.com isnt Ruining Games Journalism

I would just like to start off by saying that TheHipGamer isn’t ruining games journalism. Planetxbox360.com previously said that HipHopGamer “Is ruining the blossoming reputation of N4G.com” which to me is a joke. N4G used to be a site where us gamers could go and get our daily dose of gaming news, but now it is overrun by depressing fanboys who bitch about  every console and game that exists. It all started when the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 was announced. Everyone then caught a deadly disease called ‘Fanbitis’

If you ask me sites like Gamestop and Kotaku are ruining games journalism. Kotaku with it’s useless and boring news and Gamestop with it’s errors and boring information on topics no one really cares about. I visit HipHopGamer.com every day to see what he has posted. I like to think of him as ‘Threedog’ from Fallout 3. He speaks the truth against all platforms. He also puts on a good show. Here is one of my personal favourites of TheHopGamer in action. He puts so much effort in to his site and not to mention he basically runs it on his own. He adds game news to the site, some hip hop news and for the men some sweet pics of women.

Times have changed, years ago no one even cared who made a game as long as it was addicting and it it sold copy’s, but nowadays it’s more like ‘New Lord of The Rings’ game announced, and then it says developed by pandemic and then you don’t seem interested in it anymore. HipHopGamer is just another one of those sites who stand up for themselves and tell you just whats happening in the gaming world. Unlike IGN who brainwash you in to thinking that everything is perfect and Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are all great friends. Well they’re not and developers are being closed down and people are losing their jobs. I am writing this just to show you how ignorant some authors can be (even me at times) when it comes to sites and their opinions.

It never used to be like this, most sites always getting along with each other but sites are gone corrupt and don’t care about anyone but themselves. Will it end. Will Sony,Nintendo and Microsoft just forget about everything and just make some peace. Well that is just another one of some gamers paradises. And if it does happen what will happen to all of us. What else will we have to bitch about. I’m not sure why Planetxbox360.com wants HipHopGamer to shut down, they have no right demanding it. Or maybe it is just one site jealous over another site. Ridiculous if you ask me.

    PlayStation logo 2
It’s normal that rumours of a new console appear after a console has been out for a while. But Sony has been denying time and time again that they are not working on the PlayStation 3’s follower, the PlayStation 4.

Talking to UK magazine T3, Sony said

PS3 won’t celebrate its second birthday in the UK until March of this year, and we’ve said all along that the life-cycle for this generation of hardware will be longer than previous models

PS2 was still going strong after eight years, and with the power the Cell processor provides, not to mention the fact that PS3 is inherently future-proof, we see the PS3 sales curve far outlasting that of PS2

Why would they bring out such news now. It would harm the sales numbers of the PlayStation 3 which has not cemented itself in people’s living room like the PlayStation 2 had done. And it took the PS2 almost 5 years

With Microsoft proud to announce that 1 millions Xbox Live users are using the Netflix service, PS3Center was quick to jump gun and let know how Sony is doing with the Video Store.

They summed it up like this:
No Double fee’s (No subscription fee and movie cost)
    Faster download speeds
    HD quality
Possible to take on the road via PSP or their portable device suing the flexible DRM.

One advantage Netflix has over Sony’s own Store is that it’s back catalogue is superior with older movies and great selections.

Most of you probably saw this coming but Home still has glitches in it. I’m talking about the ones where you wander of the map and ‘air walk’. The patch was already delayed yesterday but today it went live.

Proof? GamerRiley a member of TheSixthAxis came with it after discovering it.
