Here the press release from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
Take classic, addictive sideways scrolling gameplay, add to it the firepower of PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and PLAYSTATION®Network and sprinkle with a new development team with a rich heritage in online shooters and out blasts CRASH COMMANDO™ from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) for PAL territories.
Developed by EPOS (Entertainment Products of Sweden) – formed by two of the founding members of DICE, the company behind the internationally renowned ‘Battlefield’ series and published by SCEE, Crash Commando will be available exclusively as a download from PLAYSTATION Network, easily accessible and doesn’t require hours of practice in order to compete. Combining a wicked sense of humour with uber-violent Commando-style gameplay, Crash Commando is an adrenaline fix for new and old school gamers.
Fun and frenzied multiplayer action means the hilarious action never slows down. Up to 12 players can battle on any map simultaneously, either online or offline with A.I.-controlled BOTs. There are weapons and explosives everywhere; the Commandos have an array of armaments to choose from including machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, C4, mines and even a remote-controlled missile! Players can also jump into an array of vehicles including jeeps and tanks to wreak even more chaos. Crash Commando also features multiplayer modes like Death Match, team-based game modes, single player modes such as Boot Camp and custom games versus BOTs.
Learn your skills offline at BOOT CAMP before venturing online, and discover eight maps, each featuring two gameplay levels which can be accessed either on foot or in vehicles via portals and tunnels – even remote controlled missiles can swap between these levels! The options are endless and give real variety to the gameplay and a new and constant challenge to anyone brutal enough to take on the challenge.
For the competitive and fearsome Crash Commando, there are player profiles to show off bravery and skill. A Duty Records Award system, along with rankings, trophy support and online leaderboards, will track player stats and accomplishments.

Sony to carry on developing PSN for freeSony has been developing and adding new services to the Playstation Network and best of all for FREE. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios has confirmed that Sony is looking to extend and bring new features in for PSN.
“We’re more open about approaching and bringing services in to PS3 and PSP,”
“We can’t support all the needs of the consumer and there are great companies providing services on the PC already – so we’re very open to provide the opportunity to those companies to reach our user base as well.”
Sony will continues to provide PSN access for free and more services are to come such as the music/video streaming service called Vidzone.
“There are things we’re looking at, and learning how we can provide a service without people having to pay,”
“But we still get our operation running with funding from somewhere so that we can maintain the level of quality we want.”
I wouldn’t worry about the above statement. Yoshida is basically saying they could get their funding from advertisement.
“We like to provide as many services as possible for free – we already provide our network access for gameplay for free – and the interesting thing about the network side and the Internet business is that there’s a variety of revenue sources.”
Good job Sony! Lets hope they keep it free for a long time to come.

Kratos Has Been Spotted Playing Golf?Over at PlayStation.Blog they just announced that the rumors are indeed true and he will be coming to Hot Shots Golf. Kratos will hit US PlayStation Stores tomorrow for $2. Nothing was mentioned if PAL regions will be getting the Kratos download also. We will do our best and get an answer.
This is what Chris Hinojasa-Miranda had to say when integrating Kratos in the game
In all honesty, integrating Kratos into Hot Shots Golf was by far one of the best experiences, as we got to work closely with the God of War team and the casts of characters (voice over, animators, etc) that created Kratos in his original form.
