70% of Playstation 3 games that are already released will be compatible with Sony’s answer to Xbox Live’s Achievement system, Trophies.
The July issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK states that:
“PlayStation 3 achievements – called ‘trophies’ – will be unveiled soon (this bit we already know, but here’s the interesting bit), and 70% of games will already be compatible.”
This could be true because apparently it only takes developers half a days work to implement the trophy system into their games.
What games do you hope that will support Trohpies?
Grand Theft Auto IV
Uncharted Drakes Fortune
Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4 surely has to include support, it was only released nearly 3 weeks ago.

haha, funny one, sony copies and clone the competition… i have been enjoying these features for years now… and any one could can’t afford 50 bucks a years… shouldn’t be toying with themselves with a 500 console!
The funny thing about the 50 bucks for Live is that you shouldn’t have to pay for it to begin with. Suckers buy 360s and uber-suckers pay to play on a service that should most definitely be free. You already pay for the ISP (which Microsoft already takes money out of), so it’s pretty pointless to have to pay for Live. Yet you still do it. Sucker.
This idiot above me should know that we can afford 50 bucks a year but we prefer thing to be free.

I’m hoping dark sector, Top Spin 3, MGS4 and GTA IV
I wud like to see MLB 08 The Show, Burnout (which will allow in game music), and Uncharted (will also probably have it : Evan sed wen they implement this tht there will be accomplishments) TO all have trophies.
BUT hopefully in time we wont have to hope for a game to support this.
I would also like to see every sports and racing game patched to include music. Shooters, eh, not reely.
The only games that I want to have trophies added to, other than the ones already listed above, are Warhawk, Calling all Cars, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword, and Madden 08.
Yea, i cant wait till tom’w night at midnight for the release of 2.4 the only thing that sucks is for ppl that beat mgs4 and gta4 will have to replay them inorder to get the trophies
this looks to be a good addition, and 70% support sounds awsome. MGS4 would be my top choice though, and then BF:BC would be my second.
actually, its a lot more organized than gamerpoints, and a lot more rewarding too, say you have 10,000 gameerpoints and you complete an achievement to get 10 more, not really much difference is there, but with trophies you get a visible increase that actually lets you see for yourself how much the trophy helped towards your level, and its just so rewarding if something like that is implemented

Only reason bill came in his pant’s was cause it took sony almost 2 year’s to add feature’s that should have been there since day 1. Hell regular xbox had listen to your own track’s in game and 7 years later sony finally add’s it, when everybody and there brother has been wanting it.

I used to pop the disc out of my first-run Playstation 1 and listen to my own CD’s as the game’s soundtrack.
Nothing XBox related is original, it’s all been done before.

‘youtalkin2me.’ On playstation 1 we could play GTA London and then put in a music C.D……years b4 the xbox was even out. PS3 is now miles better than xbox any1 saying otherwise is in denial.

Will the trophies be retroactive?
wot do u mean by retroactive?
It means will trophies unlock already or will we have to go back and play through the game to get trophies.
It’s already been announced that trophy’s WILL NOT be retroactive. You’ll have to go through the entire game again/re-achieve your achievements.
