The Playstation 3 version of BioShock is believed to have a long install prior to playing the game. The BBFC has recently rated the upcoming first person shooter and has listed a file called; 00:05:24:00 BIOSHOCK PS INSTALL VID FINAL.BIK.
DarkZero believes this indicates that the install time is 24 minutes long. I believe this is only 5 minutes and 24 seconds. If you look at the other files:

00:01:12:00 COOL_STUFF.BIK
00:00:59:00 STEINMAN.BIK
00:05:24:00 BIOSHOCK PS INSTALL VID FINAL.BIK
00:05:49:00 CREDITS.BIK

The way DarkZero has worked the time out is by looking at the last 4 digits, where the install file reads 24:00. It looks like DarkZero has missed the other digits off (05:24:00). Surely the credits isn’t 49 minutes long and surely a trailer isn’t 25 minutes long. Those times above are in a format like this; DD:HH:mm:SS.
1 minute and 25 seconds seems more believable for a trailer. We contacted 2k games for confirmation and this is the response we received:
“The install time is not 24 minutes at all, it’s around 5 or 6 minutes”
Confirmed by 2k games, the install time will be around 5 or 6 minutes.

Awesome, i also saw that news stating a 24 minute install.
Can’t say I’m particularly fussed, since it’s not a game that really interests me. I saw some footage from E3, and it looks… dated.
