With current Sony president Ryoji Chubachi stepping down, Howard Stringer ‘moves one step up’ to company president. Chubachi will remain a member of the board and will help assist Stringer.

With this move Howard Stringer will get more power to push his plans and idea’s for the future of Sony through more easily, as he encounter some struggles late last year trying to do this.

This reorganisation is designed to transform Sony into a more innovative, integrated and agile global company with its next generation of leadership firmly in place

The changes we’re announcing today will accelerate the transformation of the company that began four years ago. They will now make it possible for all of Sony’s parts to work together to assume a position of worldwide leadership and together achieve great things

When these plans go through, Sony will change it’s business group structure creating two main groups. Moving the Games division and Vaio division (Computer) under one group named Networked Products and Services. And Personal Electronics (TV’s, camera’s ect.) under New Consumer Products Group.

The NPS (yeah were quick) will be led by PlayStation Boss Kaz Harai (Thus making a promotion). He will have Walkman audio products, mobile products, Media Software and Services and of course the PlayStation group under his care.

Hiroshi Yoshioka will get to control the flow of digital imaging, home audio, and video business in the NCPG.

Expect these changed to take place on April 1st. (hm.. april fool?)

For the week ending on February 22th, both the Wii and PlayStation 3 got left behind by the Xbox 360. What did you say? The Xbox ahead of the Wii in Japan, No that’s a lie? Nevertheless it’s true.

If we posted this a year ago, nobody would believe us. But it has happend.
The 360 sales jumped to 25,334 units after the release of Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope, which itself sold 162,232 times in it’s first week.

The Wii sold 16,973 units while the PlayStation 3 managed ‘only’ 16,149. that is a drop of 2,500 units from last week. The PlayStation Portable also took heavy hits, moving under the 30,000 line.

Here is the list according to Media Create:

4372akuma The real way to unlock Akuma and Gouken

Earlier last week, Capcom posted on their blog how they discovered that many users already unlocked Akuma but found that there is a quicker way to get him (and Gouken) then most user created guides showed.

Here is the step by step walk through:

To unlock Akuma as a playable character:

  1. Unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Dan, Sakura, Rose, and Gen.
  2. Pick a character you have already used to beat Arcade Mode.
  3. Win all your matches without continuing and without losing any rounds before fighting with Seth.

You need to get at least one “perfect” win in a round, and more than one depending on how many rounds per match you are playing.

  • 1 round match: 1 perfect round or more
  • 3 round match: 2 perfect rounds or more
  • 5 round match: 3 perfect rounds or more
  • 7 round match: 4 perfect rounds or more

(including the last battle against Seth)

If you meet these conditions, Akuma will appear. Defeat him to unlock Akuma as a selectable character.

Capcom posted (their own) ‘The Street Fighter Training Manual’. It’s full of great art, info and techniques for characters, and an interview Seth Killian.

The link is having a lot of traffic so it will take while before you got it. We suggest you simply download it rather then read it through your browser.

They also posted a video showing some of the basics of the Street Fighter 4 tutorial. made by Anil Das Gupta (Capcom Europe employee). Check it after the break. (more…)

The first Killzone 2 patch has been spotted. Seb Downie has let everyone on the US Playstation Forums that there will be a new patch released soon (if it hasn’t already been released) that will fix some sort of ‘931 error’.

    Hi folks,

we’re on this one and have a good idea why it is occuring.  There will also be a new patch released in the next two hours to hopefully fix this.  In the mean time, stay cool and normal service will resume shortly. we’re on this one and have a good idea why it is occurs. LittleBigPlanetoid posted a ‘massive rumour’.
In an episode of EP Daily on G4Tech TV YouTube video uploading is hinted at coming to LittleBigPlanet.

When the Youtube APi integration was first mentioned on Youtube’s blog, many were looking forward to what would be possible and which games would support it. So far PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Monsters and Noby Noby Boy support it along with a few Japanese only titles.

We wonder what for possibilities this will bring and what it will hold for LittleBigPlanet.

Here is a walkthrough video of the Warhawk Command Center which shows you the all important ‘Sand Table’. On the US version of Home you are now able to enter this space and plan your tactics.

On the US PlayStation Store you will be able to get the game for $19.99 untill March 11. Booster Combo Pack will run you $9.99 (All three expansions). But if you don’t want them all you will be able to get each Individual Warhawk Booster pack for $4,99.

So what is the news on a European release for the Command Center?

The content has arrived here and is being prepared for SCEE’s audience now. We will bring you more information on these as it becomes available

Right, why wasn’t this done earlier we ask. This is only more oil on SCEE’s burning (and heavily damaged) reputation with it’s userbase.
TedTheDog is doing his best to keep tempers low but we don’t know if they can wait ‘a few more weeks’ for info or a release.

Were glad to see that Warhawk is setting the tone for what is possible in Home.

Electronic Arts Redwood Shores has confirmed a sequel to Dead Space and will be coming at some point in the future. Glen Schofield, general manager of EA’s Redwood Shores studio in San Francisco has let everyone know the news. We expected a sequel, it would be rude not to because the first game did well and we loved it.

We haven’t announced anything yet, but I don’t think you take a game that’s rated 89 and just go, ‘Well, that was a failure

And you know what, we’ll figure that out, because the hardest thing is the quality. If you figure out the quality, then at some point we’re going to figure out how to get that out there.

We guess it will be released in time for Xmas.
