FIFA 09 final version detailsSomeone has got their hands on the FIFA 09 final retail build, they’ve posted some information and compared the full version to the demo. Here’s what they said.
- The shooting is much more refined & huge improvement on the demo – BUT, the camera does zoom in now as soon as the ball crosses the line. This may not be a huge problem for most – in fact, it may not even be noticeable to some, but there was delay in the zoom on the demo, which meant you saw the ball hit the back of the net before the camera zoomed for the celebration – this has gone for the main game, and for me personally, it does take a little of the satisfaction away from scoring, which is a shame.
- The graphics are an improvement, with better AA now, and replays are much, MUCH better, with no slow-down or stuttering, and the camera angles seem to be far better.
- Commentary so far seems spot on, although I’ve always liked it, yet some complain. Not 100% sure if the running animation has changed, although again, I was happy with it in the demo.
- Night matches lighting may not be to everyones taste, but it looks stunning from where I’m sitting, and has a similar hue to that of the 2004/5 champions league Fifa game, with a very slight blueish tint, that does give it a TV style feel, even though it isn’t necessarily accurate. The crowd seem to have improved since the demo, although I can’t put my finger on how.
- There are lots of nice little touches here and there, and variations within the animation – sometimes the way players receive the ball and pass looks absolutely stunning. It’s difficult to put my finger on it, but the way the players position their bodies, and the shape of them as they recieve the ball can just look fantastic.
- All in all, I can’t get enough of it at the moment. It’s without the doubt the best football game I’ve played, and the most ‘right’ feeling football game since PES 3 for me.

Sony Charging Monthly/Annually For MAG?Sony’s new massive multiplayer shooter, MAG, may have you paying monthly or annual rates to play the game. According to an e-mail sent to PlayStation Underground members, asking members about payment plans for MAG.
Today I received a survey from Sony Playstation Underground and it seemed to be related MAG. The survey asked at least 15 questions related to Payment plans for the game. Seems Sony’s plan is to charge a yearly or monthly fee, while also one time fees for content downloads. It also mentioned hosting partners being EA, Sony, and Activision. So turns out not all games on PSN are going to be free after all. I wish I would have taken some screen captures of this email. Playstation Underground members check your email for a letter called “Short Survey. Big New Game.” More info from the email below. Stay tuned for more details.
How do you guys think of this if Sony goes through with this?

Burnout Paradise load timesYou can buy Burnout Paradise from either the shop or off the Playstation Store. If you havent got Burnout Paradise yet but thinking of getting it you might want to compare the two versions. MTV has posted a useful article that compares the two version including the loading times.
1) The downloadable version is only 3.3 GB, including the add-on content, which means that a pre-installed (and presumably compressed) “Burnout Paradise” wouldn’t even come close to filling up a standard DVD, let alone a 25 GB Blu-Ray. It’s no shocker that the game isn’t, say, 10GB, because it had to have been designed to be small enough to fit on a DVD. The neat thing is that, thanks to being able to see the file sizes of content available on PSN, we now know exactly how big “Burnout Paradise” really is.
2) Your save file won’t be compatible with the $30 downloadable version of the game now offered on the PlayStation Network. If, like me, you’re converting to the PSN version, you’ll be starting your “Paradise” career from scratch.
2) Load times on the PSN version are a wee bit shorter: 70 seconds from booting the game up from the PS3’s cross media bar to being able to enter the loaded game vs. 82 seconds when booting with the Blu-Ray version. (Remember, that this is the open-world racer’s only loading sequence.)
4) You don’t get a discount on the PSN version if you own the Blu-Ray version. But you do no longer have to use a disc, of course.
The loading time from the XMB to the game is around 82 seconds on Blu-Ray while the PSN version takes 70 seconds. Not a massive difference.
I always prefer my games on disc so i’d go with the Blu-Ray version.

Kojima: Three concepts for MGS5Hideo Kojima has revealed that he has three concepts for the next Metal Gear Solid game. MGS4 was meant to be his last game in the series but wasn’t MGS2 and MGS3? In an interview with 1UP, Kojima said that he wants to leave MGS5 to his younger staff.
“I would like to just make a new game, and the younger staff can work on the new MGS projects,”
“I have three concepts for MGS5 already. What would be ideal for me with MGS5, though, is that we don’t do those. If the team picks one of those concepts, I have to get involved again, which I don’t want to do.”
Kojima has stated that he wants to create a brand new game, something new for the industry.
“I want to create something new, and it’s difficult to explain since no one’s seen it before,”
“I don’t know if it would sell very well. I’ve been warming this up for a long time, and I keep thinking that I’ll try this idea. But ideas always change, so I really don’t know what the final outcome will be.”
Sounds like Kojima’s team is hard at work thinking of ideas for MGS5.
“There are already so many good [MGS5] ideas from the staff, so if we select one of those, that would be really good. At that point I could really rely on them and take the step back to be the producer, which is the ideal situation, I think.”
