Get A Job at Media MoleculeYou can land a job at Media Molecule, by making some awesome levels in their upcoming game Little Big Planet. The developers will watch what users are creating very closely, and recruit community designers to work as a development team.
Smith went on to explain the potential for a number of users to be “commissioned” to work on levels. “I think if we were gonna do that we’d rather get the top ten guys and commission them to make some amazing stuff for us,” he told us at the Leipzig Games Convention last month.
And you might even land a job on the team. “But we’ll be watching it closely, because it’ll be a great way for us to recruit great new designers,” said Smith.
This game just keeps getting better and better.
Pete Smith also talked about users being able to charge for their content.
“If a user becomes known as being great at making levels, I can’t say we wouldn’t but I don’t think we’d want to take his level and then charge people for it, because it’s free – that’s the whole premise of the game.”
He added: “However, we will be aware of who those awesome designers are and certainly there’s the potential to get them building levels as part of the dev team.”
This is a great opportunity for those of you out there that want to venture out into the gaming world.

LittleBigPlanet to have around 50 levels on discWondering how many levels there will be straight off the disc in LittleBigPlanet? There will be a whopping 50 levels already on the disc when you buy the game. There will also be an interlinking story so it’s not just a random selection of levels.
How many levels will be on the disc?
Around 50-ish. There’ll be an interlinking story, too, so it’s not just a random selection of levels. About the first half of the game is one long tutorial, introducing you to all the gameplay mechanics in the game.

More SOCOM Confrontation beta newsPlaystation.Blog has updated us all on new Socom Confrontation beta news. Here’s what Sony’s Seth Luisi has to say:
Hi folks,
Well, I’ve got some good and not so good news. The good news is that we are still on track to delivering a kick-ass experience come October. The bad news is that because we are working so hard to ensure the final product is fantastic, we’ve decided to push back the Public Beta date just a few days in order to bump up the experience even more. So, the new launch date for the Public Beta is now Friday, September 5th (QORE members will start the following Friday, September 12).
The other good news is that we are not cutting down the length of the Public Beta one bit. It will still run for a full month – from 9/5 to 10/5 – so you and your clanmates can still practice as long as you want and then be ready to go for the full game later in October.
Myself, my team and Slant Six are burning the midnight oil to ensure this game is the best it can possibly be for you guys. We completely understand it’s hard to wait when you haven’t had a chance to play it yet but, rest assured, the wait will be worth it. If you haven’t done it already, you can pre-order the game from GameStop® in the US to get into the Public Beta (EB Games™ for our brethren to the North). Make sure to bring along 2 extra friends once you register and get the email promo code from us; that code will let them in too. You’re not going to get another Public Beta out there that will give you and your squad-mates so much access.
Best,
Seth
Basically he’s saying that the beta will start on the 5th of September for selected lucky people and the 12th of September for Qore subscribers. The beta will run for a full months from 9/5 to 10/5. The full game will be released in October.

Rumor: Kingdom Hearts III to be at TGSThe latest rumor regarding the third Kingdom Hearts game has appeared and it says that it will make a showing at this years Tokyo Games Show. Official Playstation Magazine Issue 23 had an interesting part where TGS will raise a few eyebrows. In the rumor section it states that Kingdon Hearts III is in development for the Playstation 3 and will be at TGS.
Here’s a the quote:
“Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development as a PS3 exclusive and will be announced at TGS.”
Does this mean it’s a PS3 exclusive or the PS3 is just getting the game? We’ll find out soon!

In a recent interview Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in the latest issue of Dengeki Playstation that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be release worldwide only on the Playstation 3. This means that you will find FF Versus XIII on the PS3 anywhere in the world no matter where you live. The Xbox 360 version isn’t being released at all.
This is what Nomura said:
[Playstation 3 Only World wide] appears at the end of the trailer
Nomura: As the director of FFv13, i have already stated that this game is [Playstation 3 Only World wide].

Vampire Rain is coming to the Playstation 3 after being released on the Xbox 360 first. The only bad thing about the PS3 version of the game is the 3.8GB installation size and it will be mandatory. Apparently it takes around 30 minutes to install so be prepared to wait if you ever buy the game.

LittleBigPlanet level limitations are minimalIn a recent interview, producer Pete Smith and interface designer Jim Unwin has revealed that the creation limits are at minimal. There is a thermometer displayed when your creating a new level, as you progress adding new content to the level the thermometer will move up and get hotter, the more you add the hotter the thermometer reads.
At Leipzig Games Convention 2008 one guy kept a level open for an entire day while groups of German press rotated and each added more content to the level. By the end of the day the level was maxed out.
None of the levels on the game disc are no way near maxed out so i’d imagine you can go mad and create one big level.
Are there limits to how much you can put in a level?
There’s a thermometer in the Create mode which shows how complex your level is. This is just a rough estimation and we’ve only ever seen it maxed out once and that was here, at Leipzig. One guy kept a level open for an entire day while groups of German press rotated in and more content was added. By the end of the day it was maxed out, but none of our levels, the ones on the game disc, even come close.
