Did you know that the Playstation 3 works out cheaper even after the Xbox 360 price cut that could happen on the 7th of September? Well, it does.
The 360 could be reduced by at least $50. Assuming this rumor is true, the PS3 still work out potentially cheaper. Take a look at the following chart.
If you just buy the base unit with no upgrades the 360 works out cheaper, however it’s a different story if you want to start upgrading the 360. Thats if you want wireless and don’t forget the $50 a year for online play. Also what about a Blu-ray drive if they ever bring one out.

8 Final Fantasy XIII HD screenshots
The Wheelman is a car action game developed by Midway Games and is scheduled to be released in February 2009. The game is set in Barcelona and is full of destructable objects, alleyways, shortcuts through office blocks and a total of 25 story missions and 105 side missions.

This is what David Reeves believes. Speaking at the Games Convention last week, David Cage, boss of Quantic Dream said that Sony considered Heavy Rain to be the most important title for 2009.
“A risk? I would rather say it’s an opportunity… If you listened to the keynote speech yesterday, David Reeves said this is the most important title for next year. I believe it’s an opportunity to expand the market, also.”
Cage spoke to VG247 during a demo of Heavy Rain and this is what he said.
“It’s an opportunity to get people on board with traditional games,”
“Everybody likes stories, like characters, likes emotions, and it’s an interesting way to get people playing on PlayStation 3.”
I’m not sure this game will appeal to everyone but it looks promising.

Final Fantasy Verus XIII, the exclusive Final Fantasy game for the Playstation 3 is believed to be more like a traditional Final Fantasy game than Final Fantasy XIII. What this means is that FF Versus XIII will be more like FF7/FF8 where you travel across mountains, ocean and going in dungeons etc.
Obviously the battle system won’t be like a traditional FF game but rather the exploring and story telling will be.
The battle system has changed from turn-based to real-time for Versus and the storyline will follow the traditional style of FF.

Sony to carry on developing PSN for freeSony has been developing and adding new services to the Playstation Network and best of all for FREE. Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios has confirmed that Sony is looking to extend and bring new features in for PSN.
“We’re more open about approaching and bringing services in to PS3 and PSP,”
“We can’t support all the needs of the consumer and there are great companies providing services on the PC already – so we’re very open to provide the opportunity to those companies to reach our user base as well.”
Sony will continues to provide PSN access for free and more services are to come such as the music/video streaming service called Vidzone.
“There are things we’re looking at, and learning how we can provide a service without people having to pay,”
“But we still get our operation running with funding from somewhere so that we can maintain the level of quality we want.”
I wouldn’t worry about the above statement. Yoshida is basically saying they could get their funding from advertisement.
“We like to provide as many services as possible for free – we already provide our network access for gameplay for free – and the interesting thing about the network side and the Internet business is that there’s a variety of revenue sources.”
Good job Sony! Lets hope they keep it free for a long time to come.

Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed?Ryan Payton was the Assistant Producer for Metal Gear Solid 4 and has left Kojima Productions. Upon leaving, Ryan has let slip that Metal Gear Solid 5 is on it’s way. In a recent interview with Kotaku, he was asked if there is anything he wishe’s he could of done while at Kojima Productions but didn’t and here’s what he said:
It’ll be hard not being involved in MGS5, but I’ve got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines.
This pretty much confirms that Metal Gear Solid 5 is on the way and Ryan has said that he will miss being involved, “It’ll be hard not being involved in MGS5″.
Nice to know that he’ll be cheering for the game.

PS3 Development Easier Than Famicon? The people at 1UP scored an interview with ex-Team Ninja employee Tomonobu Itagaki. He goes on to talk about Japanese game development declining, and the duel he had with Hideki Kamiya. What’s interesting, is he knows that developing on the PlayStation 3 is easier than it was on the Famicon.
“One more thing I would add is that I don’t think that developing for the PS3 is hard at all. It was much harder developing for the Famicom. It’s true. I mean, give someone who’s developing for the PS3 a Famicom and see if they can make a game for it. They won’t be able to. Yeah, that’ll prove it. We’ll bet a drink on it.
