Playstation Phone in the making? It appears that a Playstation branded mobile phone is in production. According to Sony insiders the company is working on a Playstation Phone and will incorporate elements of the Playstation Portable.
“It is understood the phone could hit the shelves in time for Christmas 2009.”
No details, specs and looks have been revealed yet and i don’t think we’ll see something for quite sometime.
Hmmmm i wonder what it will look like.

Below is the list of final features in Playstation 3’s firmware 2.4 update that is due very soon. CVG have managed to get their hands on the final list of features.
“full 2D trophy support will be in the XMB update and there will be four types: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.”
The platinum trophy is only awarded to you when you’ve got the other trophies (bronze, silver and gold). There are no gamer points, instead its done by a levelling up system.
Below is a list of Xross Media Bar features you’ll be able to access in-game.
- Friend category
- View, send, receive messages
- Manage downloads
- Set the vibration feature of the controller
- Sign in to PlayStation Network

“It’s unclear whether this feature will be compatible with all games or just new titles created with more recent development tools.”
I guess we will have to wait until its released in a few weeks time.

In Pocketgamer’s interview with SCEE’s, Vice President of Publishing and Developer Relationships Zeno Colaço, Sony has a long-term plan for the PSP, he says.
Despite the current lack of games claimed by developers and gamers on the PSP, it will be hard to fill up the space left by publishers if they refocus their interest on other segments of the game market.
Zeno Colaço has one idea to solve it.
We need to revitalise the developer community to get behind PSP. For example, it’s easy to make a DS-type game for a PSP game in terms of cost and speed of development and we will be looking to do encourage that as we continue to develop the PSP. I’m not just talking about the hardware but the services and the business models and the support, too.
This is an idea that might become apparent over the next two years as the network services are further developed.
Despite the current slow down in titels the PSP still has a good tie-ratio. With four games to each PSP with 35 million units sold worldwide.

“In the aftermath of an urban disaster, an everyday guy finds himself with extraordinary powers. What he does with them is up to you. Welcome to inFamous; the sensational new title for PLAYSTATION®3.
24th June 2008 – If society collapsed tomorrow and you found yourself with unique powers that could either help people or hurt them, which would you do? That’s the question at the centre of inFamous, the forthcoming PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) title from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, this open-ended, free-roaming game puts you in the shoes of Dylan, an everyday guy and urban explorer, in the aftermath of a huge disaster that destroys his hometown of Empire City. As Dylan, you must first learn to use new found powers and then decide how you will use them.
After the explosion, Empire City falls into chaos and Dylan must use his new powers and climbing agility. Along the way he will unravel an evolving mystery, experience fame and/or infamy, and battle powerful, iconic villains. inFamous gives you the freedom to play how you want, whether that’s aggressively, tactically or stealthily – be warned, however, that the city’s people and environment will react to what you do. Events will unfold based on the role you take and your actions will create broader reactions in the citizens and landscape around you.
Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the studio who gave PlayStation® the acclaimed “Sly Racoon” franchise, inFamous brings you a new type of superhero – an uncertain man with the weaknesses of a normal human being. What will you turn Dylan into? The choice is yours when inFamous for PS3 arrives in 2009 for PAL Markets.”

Killzone 2 Cell usageKillzoneunit.com have new information regarding Killzone 2, a PS3 exlusive first person shooter. They grabbed the information from the August issue of EGM that subscribers get early.
Apprently Killzone 2 will use four and a half of the six cores of the Playstation 3’s Cell processor. Technical Directer of Guerrilla Games, Michiel van der Leeuw says:
“Sony basically has an international forum for sharing character technology, animation tools and graphics shaders. ~ We’ve even taken a few tricks directly from the Resistance guys at Insomniac, and we’ve even been talking directly to the God of War guys in Santa Monica.”
If games look this good using 4 of the 6 cores i wonder what a game will look like using all the cores.
