PSN Friends list increased?According to playstationlifestyle.net it seems the PSN friendslist limit of 50 persons has been increased but to which amount currently isn’t known yet.
The author did not have a problem of reaching the limit recently but due to a friend notifying him of this ‘change’.
Then one of my friends messaged me saying they just counted their friends and they have over 50. I didnt believe it and i assumed he had also counted himself. So i tried this myself and i counted a total of 55 friends plus myself. I had to do this three times and i came with the same figure.
If this is the case it might be that firmware 2.36 increased the limit. This is understandable as with HOME approaching your friends list might increase much rapidly.
Update: Seems the limit is now 100 if we believe tazzer1 on the GameTrailers.com forum

Our friends over at ps3attitude have news on the Playstation 3 delivering worldwide daily news. Sony announced today during Sony Strategic Meeting in Tokyo that a service that will allow PS3 owners to view daily world news interactively.
“The system, billed under their Life with PlayStation brand, allows you to zoom around a virtual globe (not unlike the one in the Folding@Home application) and gain world news from various cities. The service will allow later on for geo-tagged pictures to be viewed on the globe, and is part of a whole slew of non-game services Sony are planning for the future.”
Basically when you turn on your PS3, Sony want to present you with the latest news and the information you require. This new service is called Life with Playstation.
Head over to ps3attitude for more information on this.

If you missed the screenshots of the trophy screen, head over to the post and check it out. Meanwhile PS3Fanboy has its hands on some more unconfirmed screenshots of the gamer card or gamer profile.
“Our sources have got back to us with a couple more images today. These images show off the third page of the user profiles (seen above) which contain some basic information on the player.”
The above image is just basically the same profiles we see now but it looks as though it has been skinned up. The same About me and My languages are still here, nothing new though, just a new look.
The second image is what it looks like when your viewing someone else gamer profile or gamer card.
Remember these are unconfirmed shots. They are probably real and we’ll find out on the 30th when Firmware 2.4 is released.

No Assassin’s Creed 2 this yearAltair won’t be returning this year according to this article. If you scroll half way down you can see that Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America states:
there’s no new “Assassin’s Creed” this year, despite its sales success. “When we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it,”
So all they want is anticipation? Won’t they get that anyway? Doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing anything at E3 in that case.

At Sony Group’s Mid-Term Corporate Strategy Meeting several Presidents of different division showed slide shots of a 2008 summer start/roll out of the video services.
Some Key Game initiatives that were discussed:
1. Expand content and services available on the network platform
2. Continue to expand the PS3 customer base through the strength of Blu-ray Disc
3. Accelerate PS3 sales through upcoming key franchise software titles
4. Continue PS3 cost reduction initiatives
With these initiatives set they hope to capitalize as well on the rapid grow in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries.
To achieve profitability in the Fiscal Year 2008, they will need to work on cutting down costs by chip shrink and reduction of components while strengthening the management.
Sony also wants to increase the network and wireless connectivity between products, not only limited to the Location Free, PSP and PS3. So that the customer can enjoy as many content as they have in their network.
