There will be a Warhawk update that will happen on the 20th of May, between 10AM and 12PM Pacific (1PM-7PM Eastern, 17:00-23:00 GMT).

The developers have been listening to the Warhawk community and acting upon feedback received by you.

The list of changes are as follow:-

  • By popular demand, playlists which include the largest layouts now include only the largest layouts. They will no longer occasionally rotate into medium layouts.
  • By popular demand, respawn times have been set to 3 seconds.
  • By popular demand, Broken Mirror servers now offer dedicated CTF and ZNS games in place of the mixed playlists.
  • Dogfight servers were added back to the list. They were inadvertently omitted before.
  • All games’ time limits were reduced to 15 minutes, and ZNS score limit was reduced to 5000, to combat complaints of prolonged base camping.
  • “NEWBIE” servers were changed to “Rookie” to bring the nomenclature in line with upcoming changes in v1.4.
  • “Pro” servers were changed to “Expert” to more obviously indicate a skill level rather than a player type. Some players incorrectly identified “Pro” servers as tournament games, a la MLG or GGL.
  • “Casual” servers are essentially the same as before, but the “Casual” designator has been dropped. We now refer to these internally as just “standard” servers, and they are listed without any special identifier.
  • The rank cap on Rookie servers was increased to Wingman, since players were getting kicked out of these servers too quickly and finding themselves unprepared to play on standard servers.
  • A rank cap was imposed on standard servers at Command Marshall. This is rank 15/19 so it should not affect a lot of players. The intention is to pull some of the most elite players out into their own category, somewhat narrowing the rank gap on these servers.
  • Many Omega Dawn exclusive servers were removed due to lack of use.

Did you know that DirectX 10 graphics are possible for consoles such as the Playstation 3?

Petter Sydow, VP of Development at Massive Entertainment, the team behind real time strategy World In Conflict spoke with VideoGamer.com and said that the team has managed to replicate some of the DirectX 10 effects seen in the PC version of World In Conflict.

Sydow mentioned:

“At this point we’ve managed to replicate some of the effects, but I don’t know what features will make it into the final release. Nearly all of our DX 10 features are possible to do on the consoles if you give it enough time and resources, so we’ll keep on working on them and see what happens.”

We will have to wait and see for some gameplay footage of World in Conflict on the Playstation 3. E3 is around the corner so maybe we will see something then.

COD5 is already in a playable state and apparently it is using the COD4 engine. not only that but the Playstation 2 will get the game too.

I think we will see something at E3 this year regarding gameplay and new features.

Executive Producer Glen Schofield said:

“This team has worked on some tremendous properties but we have always wanted to work on something that was darker and creepier. So we was right in saying Metal Gear Solid 4 is not the last. In an interview with MTV, Ryan Payton comments:

“I think there’s been some misconceptions that this is the last ‘Metal Gear,’”

“This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story.”

So basically the next Metal Gear game will not have Solid Snake and if it did it would be a prequel.

An interview with Gran Turismo’s designer Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that all of the car manufacturers will make its way into Gran Turismo 5 including Porsche.

Here is a snippet of the interview:

“OPM:Which manufacturers do you still dream on including? Porche?

KY: I can’t really go into detail at this point, but by the time GT5 comes out I think we’ll have most – no, all of the major manufacturers.

OPM: SO, come on..Porsche?

KY:Probably.

Not only that but Yamauchi gave an update on the damage system that could be included in a future update for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.

Yamauchi said:

“OPM: Exciting! So how are you getting on with damage modelling so far?

KY: It’s not actually difficult, but there are a lot of different factors, like how many cars are going to be able to race at the same time once we’ve included the damage. There’s going to have to be adjustments made – when you crash at over a certain speed there’s no way you can drive it anymore. So the level of damage applied to the car will be dampened so that you can still have fun.”

Its looking good so far for GT5.
