This post is not intended to annoy Xbox 360 fans, but just to reasure Playstation fans that they are not getting a crappy port.

According to IGN, the Playstation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV looks and plays better.

“For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster.”

Thats not to say the 360 version is bad….

“Don’t worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don’t occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.”

So if your more of a graphics person and want a cleaner looking game with less pop ups, get the PS3 version! If you want DLC get the 360 version! Theres no doubt DLC will come out for the PS3 as well, probably some time after the 360 get it. Oh and remember, don’t shoot the messenger!

It’s been rumoured that 2K Boston’s Bioshock would jump from the 360 and make its way to the PS3 by the end of this fall.

“Now, according to the upcoming issue of EGM, the move to Sony’s system could be coming this fall. Supposedly in the rumor section of the magazine, Bioshock will be coming to PS3s this September”

Bioshock could make its way to the PS3 at the same time they announce details for the sequel, Bioshock 2. It has been noted that Bioshock 2 will be a multiplatform title rather than being exclusive to one platform.

We have new MotorStorm 2 information which is featured in the latest Playstation World Magazine in the UK. MotorStorm 2 is going to be bigger than a sequel to the first muddy racing game; in fact MotorStorm 2 is that big it has its very own island and 16 tracks to race around on!

MotorStorm 2’s island is a tropical paradise that allows players to race on several different tracks including jungles, beaches and swamps. The location of the island is in South Pacific and features a volcano – maybe we can expect some volcanic action while racing or something along those lines.

Here is a picture of the island thanks to Playstation World Magazine (click to enlarge):

MotorStorm 2 Map and Island

So now that we know the MotorStorm 2 world is a South Pacific island, what sort of tracks can we expect?

Well looking at the map we can expect beach races, swamps, high mountain encounters and hopefully some snow as you can see there is snow on and around the volcano in the north side of the island.

Obviously MotorStorm 2 offers a variety of environments to race on compared to the desert environments from the first game. The new tracks will feature more multiple ways to find the finish line. This should add a hell of a lot more fun and last appeal.

Apparently water will play a key moment in the game allowing you to cool your engine as you splash through the waves on the beach and the grummy swamp. So whenever you boost your nitro and your engine is about to blow, why not cool it off in the water? But don’t expect players using the water as an advantage though, it will probably slow you down at the same time. You get the picture.

The 16 new tracks in MotorStorm 2 will feature fully destructible trees and foliage, so imagine you’re in a Monster Truck and you hit a tree and it crashed down on to the track damaging your opponents behind. Another example is that the bigger vehicles will be able to smash through trees etc no problem, but the smaller vehicles such as the bikes will have to find a way around the blocking obstacles.

That said, bikes will be able to run up tree logs or duck under to skim the logs to get the advantage. Every track in the game will feature fantastic hazards to encounter for example, the ashes from the volcano will reduce your vision on the mountain range.

New vehicles will be included second time around including the massive monster trucks that will probably crush just about anything that gets in its way including opponents.

New animation is on the cards so when you fall off your bike expect the driver to spring out the way, jumping up and over the oncoming vehicles or, if he wants to die by staying put.

There will be more players racing on the same track coupled by faster load times. So don’t expect to wait around long.

MotorStorm Screenshot 02

MotorStorm 2 will feature 4 player split screen and provide interactivity with Home and offer a unique custom race mode for online play. The graphics will be improved as MotorStorm 2 will feature a tweaked graphics engine.

So there you have it, information on the next MotorStorm! Buy the magazine for even more information and screenshots from the game!

Are you looking forwards to MotorStorm 2?

The Sixaxis motion sensor function can be used in Grand Theft Auto IV. You can use the Sixaxis controller to steer cars, boats and helicopters. Not only that but there is the ability to use the motion sensor to reload you weapons by giving the controller a quick flip upwards.

There could well be other motion sensor controls within the game but we will have to wait until the game is released on the 29th of April 2008.

There are a number of people reporting that you can download the new Metal Gear Online Beta 1.02 update. Members on the US Playstation Forums are saying you can download the new update and apperently changes the way you connect to the Konami servers.

Release Notes while/after you are downloading says it changes the way the client connects to their servers. So it’s most likely their client-side fix for the server problem.

Check out the thread here.

Below is a video of Siren: New Translation the demo that is currently on the Japanese Playstation Store. The graphics look awesome and reminds me of Uncharted Drake’s Fortune. If it plays like Uncharted then this game will be very, very good and a must buy to any Uncharted fans.

Nice animations, nice atmosphere and a good looking game all round.

Grand Theft Auto IV might be Sony’s favour according to reports from reuters.

“The anticipation is that it will sell both systems.”

“But the PS3 stands to gain the most from the game”

Michael Pachter, an analyst said that Grand Theft Auto IV will help Sony shift 2 million extra PS3’s compared to 1 million Xbox 360’s.

“I think PS3 ‘wins’ this battle,” Pachter said.

Reuters report says that the people who bought the PS2 version of Grand Theft Auto 3 will be “loyalists” and shell out the cash to buy a Playstation 3 with GTA IV.

“So many people who owned the PS2 went into PlayStation family because of ‘GTA’. The release of ‘GTA4′ could expedite their decision to upgrade,” said Edward Williams, an analyst with BMO Capital Markets.

“But Microsoft, coming off a blockbuster 2007 with hits like “Halo 3″, has a lighter exclusive lineup this year and analysts reckon that most dedicated gamers interested in buying an Xbox have already done so.”
