The demo alike racing title has entered the UK game charts at number 1. GT5 Prologue is also the fastest selling PS3 game in a week. The game is sold out almost everywhere in the UK and wherever i go everyone is talking about GT5 Prologue. I can’t think how well the full game will do in terms of sales.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue knocked Rainbow Six Vegas 2 off the top, which is now in second position.

Ryan Payton, on the latest episode of the Kojima Productions Report podcast has said that MGS1 could hit the Playstation Store in US and Europe if interest is high enough in Japan.

Metal Gear Solid 1 is only confirmed for the Japanese store, with no word about US and European store as of yet. If interest is high in Japan then Konami will announce a release date for MGS1 to be released elsewhere. Let’s all hope a lot of people purchase the game in Japan, then we can all re-live the classic moments of Metal Gear Solid.

Yesterday the official Playstation Blog announced that the new Playstation Store design and interface will be available mid-April. Playstation Store will be revamped with a new look. Playstation Network users cried for a new design, a more fluid transition and this is what we have got.

Below is a screenshot of what the new revamped Store will look like:

Playstation Store Re-design

The official post states:

As you can see in the above screenshot, the new interface allows customers to browse through eight primary categories, rather than four, making it easier to locate games, demos, game add-ons and other content. It also enables us to put up to twice as many items per page, significantly cutting down the time it takes to browse through content.

There will be no content updates April 3rd and April 10th due to the upgrade process. You will be able to still browse the Playstation Store and download the what’s currently on the store, but no new content will added on the above dates.

When the Playstation Store is set to re-open with the new design and interface, users will be prompted to download the latest firmware update which will allow users to access the new store.

There is a new PS3 SKY on the way and leaked information about the new machine is available. The FCC has let slip information regarding the new SKU, AK8CBEH1101 which is the new PS3 model. This could reduce the price of other models such as the 40 gig or 80 gig.

A post on the PS3Forums has information on the features updates/downgrades included in the new model:-

The FCC filing tells us that the new SKU has at least:

1 x HDMI Port
1 x AV Port
1 x LAN Port
2 x USB Ports
Bluetooth Ver. 2.0+EDR
WLAN 802.11b/g

Differences compared to previous SKUs:

It draws less current; Now only rated 3A down from the previous 3.2A

Bluetooth is the same version as before, however the Antenna gain is increased on Antenna1 from 0.21dBi (max) in the original 60Gb, up to 3.83dBi (max) in the new SKU. Antenna2 also sees an increase, from 4.13dBi (max) up to 4,92 dBi (max).

WLAN is still 802.11b/g, however there is a difference in Antenna gain too. ANT0 is now 0.69dBi from 0.10dBi previously, and ANT1 is now -0.26dBi from 0.91dBi.

Also included with the new model is the rumble enabled Dual Shock 3, not the Sixaxis.

Take a look at this site for more information.
