
The number wouldn’t surprise many people as half of the PlayStation 3 owners has atleast one extra account in a different region. Why? Because of the different PlayStation Store releases.
Nevertheless, SCEI was proud to announce that they have exceeded the 20 million user mark on the PlayStation Network in ‘only 2 years and 3 months from the service launch on November 11, 2006′.
Since the launch the PSN service has expanded to 55 countries and regions around the world.
Adding to that 14,500 diverse digital content and 5,900 movies and TV episodes, managed to get 380 million downloads (some free some, purchased).
And PlayStation Home is doing it’s best to keep up. Thought it’s only 20% (4 million) that has registered to the service, the potential and future looks bright with the upcoming releases of the Warhawk Game Space and the highly anticipated EA Sports complex.
But are these 20 million accounts all PlayStation 2, 3 and PSP owners? No, since several website integrated with the PlayStation Network, posting a comment made registering mandatory. And with this current Digital Age, fanboy activity is very high so they don’t mind creating a ‘fake account’ just bash a certain console.
